New Thundercats for 2011

Something about that poster makes me think this might be a more...medieval version of the original. Like the new He-Man was more sword and sorcery and technology was almost non-existant.

I'm fairly giddy over this news. I'd much prefer a new full blown ThunderCats animated series over a two hour movie. Having Studio 4C animate it is just sweet delicious icing on the cake.

Curious. Was it written in Japan? 'Cause for me that's what makes it anime, in addition to being drawn in Japan.

Most shows including anime are animated overseas and not necessarily japan. If its an american production/designs/scripts its not anime even if japan animates it.

Oh, please. It's anime, take it or leave it. :P

I won't exclude American works, just because the production/concepts are American. Anime is animation from Japan, domestic or made for foreign markets. Pure and simple.

There's also plenty of non-American anime shows, particularly in Europe. (Ulysses 31, among others.) I'm not going to exclude those, either.

By your logic, we may as well exclude the new Thundercats series, despite it being hyped as anime. Same goes for Powerpuff Girls Z (AKA: PPGINO), which was commissioned from the US.

Anime is anime. Cartoons here is anime. Anime there is cartoons. It's all interchangeable.

I thought Thundercats was made in Hawaii, by a japanese studio that rankin-bass hired, which did a lot of foreign and domestic work.

Well, Lion-O original VA is to make an appearence in the reboot as King Cladius(Lion-O's father). I hope we find out the main cast soon. Until then, I've got my opinions on who we should expect in terms of the main hero and villian.

Lion-O: Grant George (Warrior of Light, Dissidia)

Mumm-Ra: Roger Jackson (Emperor Gramis, FFXII; Mojo Jojo, PPG)
