New Pokemon look interesting. We'll see if the new region and Gyms among others are good.

Hopefully, the new game can match up against HGSS. IMHO, HGSS is going to be a serious tough act to follow.

If you count the Gameboy Color as a separate system from the Gameboy then no. Actually even if you didn't count it the answer is still no.

DS to DSi is pretty much the same as Gameboy to Gameboy Color.
