New Live Transformers TV Spot

It makes excellent sense. Transformers are supposed to be humanoid robots; they resemble humans in many ways, from appearance down to personality and emotions. It's not the story of scary, alien robots to the story of who we (the audience) are supposed to be just observers.

Thank you. Suddenly, after the big uproar about the robot designs cooled down, I found myself being one of the few who actually believe that.

Yeah, I'm with you guys.

It being a Transformers movie doesn't really mean anything to me. I think I'd be just as interested in the film if was a totally new property.

As someone else pointed out, it's treatment of the license is somewhat reminiscent of the Mario Bros movie.

But these robots don't really look humanoid though. They look VERY, VERY different from the TF's we know of. If the movie toys are accurate, they have toes and somewhat clawed hands (At least for Ratchet).

This looks more and more like to me, an action movie that's thinly using the TF license as its gimmick and not a full-fledged TF movie, which is sad because I think the actual transformer property done with today's current technology would be a wonderful thing to see.

They are sentient beings from another planet, of course they will and should look a bit different. This feels and looks like a TF movie to me.

I think the actual transformer G1 property done with CGI technology of today would look ridiculous.

Maybe, but the G1 transformers were redesigned to give them more humanlike features ie Ironhide and Ratchet actually getting a head.

Ehm, I'm not sure if there is confusion here; I am agreeing with you. That exactly is my problem with this film.

And, personally, I don't believe that any actual Transformer design would look rediculous in CG. They don't have to take the simplistic animation from the G1 cartoon to do it right. Draven (well-known 3D artist in the TF fandom) had made a couple of years ago a very short video of the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime transforming; fluid, beautiful, true to the very core of the franchise.

They are sentient beings from another planet, the same way Kryptonians are. Now, I don't think any of us would like to see a Superman with claws and pointy ears... I hope.

I''m sorry, I'm just doped up on cold medication dealing with this lovely flu virus I have. Managed to keep solid food down today so I think might survive the weekend.

Btw, is it just me or does Movie Megatron look like Onslaught?

Welcome me to the club. Sore throat, stuffy nose and no sleep since morning. Damn weather.

As for Megatron... I never really thought of it. He always looked like a kindergarden project with lots of metal toothpics glued together.

Even then they are still ridiculous looking when trying to import that to a liver action movie. G1 was and is too blocky. They did a test (which will probably become a special feature when the movie comes to DVD) to see how well the old school designs would work.

Question,

Who would like to see a live action transformer movie with all blocky robots in it? No one... I bet everyone's jaw will drop once we reached 7.4.7
