NBA 2012/13 Season Discussion Thread

Thanks for answering my second question.

Trust me, a lot of NBA fans were asking that question when the first rumors surfaced about Doc Rivers leaving Boston to coach the Clippers..............we can read minds

I'm not a fan of teams being allowed to trade for Coaches. I never liked it when the Buccaneers traded for Jon Gruden back then but he did get them a Super Bowl win. So we will see what Doc Rivers can do with the Clippers. This seemed like a desperation attempt to get Chris Paul to re-sign too so if it works out, good for them. The Clippers need Deandre Jordan and Blake Griffin to improve their free-throw shooting though if they are to get to the next level.

The Nuggets hired Brian Shaw to be their new Head Coach and it was about time he became a Head Coach. I think he should've been the Lakers Head Coach after Phil left but I guess they had other ideas. I don't know how Brian is going to do with the Nuggets but we do know that they have a good team. They just need a guy who they can depend on down the stretch.

I agree with you on the counts of Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan improving their free throws. Blake has improved on that count, but he could improve some more. But I also think that the two should improve their post game as well, especially Blake, the other cornerstone of the team (Not as concerned with DeAndre with the post, but if he does improve, it's gonna be a major benefit to the team).

And that's why we have Alvin Gentry too. :anime:

What's the deal with NBA players who can't make free throws consistently? I just don't get it. Guys at this stage should be able to make it easily. I dislike the hack a Shaq and hack a Dwight strategies. I mean nobody is going to contest the shot. Guys like Dwight and DeAndre should be able to make their free throws. They need to change their mechanics at the free throw line.

Anyone heard about the billboards that's posted around LA for Dwight to stay? I don't really think that's going to work, but we'll see.

NBA Draft time...

And apparently, Cleveland pulls a shocker by selecting NONE of the guys favored to be #1 (Ben McLemore, Nerlens Noel, Victor Oladipo). Instead they go with Anthony Bennett.

Maybe they're looking more for a support piece instead of a potential superstar?

I heard about those billboards too. And all I have to say is that they are desperate. Lol....Can't believe the Lakers would stoop that low for a guy who's proven to be a baby. He's also proven to have baby mama drama more than he does for winning NBA Titles. I heard he's at five baby mamas right now. Whoever ends with Dwight, good luck with him. I rather take my chances with Demarcus Cousins. Or maybe I'm being a homer.

Did anyone watch the NBA Draft? It was interesting for sure. David Stern was embracing that heel persona with all the boo's being thrown at him. It was hilarious. So many trades at the Draft though. Nerlens Noel got drafted by the Hornets but got shipped to Philly in exchange for Jrue Holiday and some future 1st round picks. Not sure what to make of this trade. The shocker of all was the Celtics/Nets trade. The Nets now have an All-Star lineup as they go all in to try to win right now. The Celtics are in full rebuilding mode now.

At least there's method to the madness between Brooklyn and Boston. Philly giving away Jrue for Nerlens Noel and a couple of draft picks is just madness, IMO

I am absolutely pissed right now. Just back in March of this year, I finally spent my hard-earned money to buy a Tyreke Evans black alternate jersey. It was my first NBA jersey I bought since the King's glory years. And just now, it's been reported that the Kings have traded Evans to the Pelicans in exchange for Grevis Vasquez (and two second-round picks) while the Blazers will get Robin Lopez. I'm not happy. This is the dirty business of the NBA. Players get traded or sign elsewhere more than any other sport from what I keep track of. I should've known to not buy a jersey during March. Now I'm stuck with an outdated jersey.
