NASA Experimenting With Warp Drive

Dark Heart

The Bun Is In Your Mind
Someone at NASA had better change his name to Zefram Cochrane soon!

NASA Scientists say that warp drive is not only possible, but might be possibly tangible within our life time. All they need is some tweaking to the warp bubble prototypes.

This video explains how warp drive works:

All I can say is, "Number One, Engage!"

P.S. Remember with Warping, space is the thing that's moving.

I seriously doubt that "some tweaking" is all they need to realize warp-speed travel.

Who cares if we get to travel yet? The mere notion of it being possiable is mind boggling. The fact they can achieve it to this degree in our life time is good enough for me.

:science:

Yeah if they WARP SPACE even on a microscoping level that will be a MOMENTOUS achievment if you ask me! From there on out it's just a matter of scaling up!

... but they haven't actually achieved anything yet. All this is at this stage is a bunch of overly optimistic tenuous postulation based on physical principles that, hey! may just work with "some tweaking," probably designed to appeal to sci-fi nerds and resuscitate public support for the space program.

This is about as impressive as saying that world peace is attainable within our lifetime, and all it'll take is every antagonistic nation on the planet relinquishing their weapons stores.

Look at Bolt trying to be a realist on a site devoted to guys fighting monsters in suits made of fiber glass and leather. It's almost adorable.

Tweaking their warp bubble prototypes. They've done the math, now they are trying it out with prototype bubbles at a microscopic level.
