Name two super sentais you would like to be fully subbed

I would really like to see Goranger and J.A.Q.K fully subbed, mostly because it would be interesting to see Sentai during the reign of Ishinomori.

As a side note, i think am in the minority when i say that i love Go-Onger, i mean sure, the show was campy as all Hell, but i kind of enjoy campy and personally i thought the characters were quite fun.

I didn't hate Go-Onger. Some of it was fun. After having watched Gobusters... I have a new appreciation for Goonger.

What I've seen of Goggle V is very crude. It seems to be a direct result of the awkward transitional period after Battle Fever J but before Dynaman, where Toei's changing things up a lot from show to show and trying to figure out exactly what people want Sentai to be.

Go-onger initiates a process of sustained devolution in Sentai, and really digs the franchise into a hole that it still hasn't gotten out of. I think Shinkenger was a big hit simply because its production team couldn't have been influenced by Go-onger, whereas everything from Goseiger on has suffered from it.

It seems to me like Go-Onger was the start of another transitional period, following the ratings freefall of Gekiranger. Shinkenger is almost a throwback to the Gaoranger through Gekiranger "era" of the franchise. But with Go-Onger, Goseiger, Gokaiger and Go-Busters, it feels like they've been trying to find something else that works (though they clearly haven't managed it yet, given that there's an army of fans ready to argue that some or all of these four shows are crap for different reasons, and the ratings haven't improved either). They aren't there yet, but I have to give them at least a tiny bit of credit for not just marching blindly on regardless.

Seeing as I now can get hold of subbed episodes of Changeman, I'll have to switch another one in. GoGoV made quite an impression on me from watching their Vs movie with Gingaman, so I'll pick them, along with Kakuranger as before.

That's an interesting take on it. I'll have to spend some time thinking about it, but my gut feeling is that I'm not sure I agree. I feel like Go-onger was working in a fairly solidified style.

It's a show that knew what to do, and how to do it, and just chose to aim low. I feel like the show's only real goal was to prevent a second Gekiranger from happening, by essentially imitating Den-O. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

It's a show that knew what to do, and how to do it, and just chose to aim low. I feel like the show's only real goal was to prevent a second Gekiranger from happening, by essentially imitating Den-O. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Go-Onger always disappointed me in this area. Junki Takegami was the head writer and he had just come off of Ryukendo, a show I adored, and he had written some of my favorite Pokemon episodes, so I was excited to see him tackle Sentai again for the first since since Gaoranger. What Go-Onger became was just...bad. I want to say that a lot of the low aiming was forced onto him and the series as a whole suffered thanks to that. Though he was working off of someone else's plans for Ryukendo and I never liked Megaranger too much. So it could have all been a fluke that I liked Ryukendo as much as I did.

I've seen the crossover and I wish they were subbed or started to be ,anyways.

I have loved reading Ishimori's works so far with 009 and preview of Inazuman [which I will read eventually alongside some Masked Rider] , and seeing this era of Ranger history would be interesting just for being from a legend like him.

I was turned off of Go-Onger's campiness , but loved the aspects that became RPM.

Perhaps 'transitional period' is too strong a phrase for it. But Go-Onger definitely tried to stamp it's own spin on the sentai format (regardless of what else it was doing or how well it did it), as you observed in other threads Goseiger tried to emulate some aspects of Zyuranger, and Go-Busters is trying to put a rider skin over sentai bones. It just feels to me like maybe the bigwigs are searching around for that new direction for the franchise to go in. The past few years just don't form so coherent an era as the early-to-mid-2000s were.

I must admit I'd quite like to see Inazuman one day. I don't know much about it but for some reason it appeals to me. I'd kinda hoped we might one day get an Inazuman-inspired Rider (in the same extremely loose sense that Double was a Kikaider-inspired Rider) but I think by including a version in the new movie Toei have squashed that idea.
