What I've seen of Goggle V is very crude. It seems to be a direct result of the awkward transitional period after Battle Fever J but before Dynaman, where Toei's changing things up a lot from show to show and trying to figure out exactly what people want Sentai to be. Goggle V happens to be the show furthest from the mark Toei finally hit with Dynaman, so it's not remembered half so fondly as Sun Vulcan or Denjiman.
I have a hard time getting really angry at a transitional show like Goggle V, for basically the same reason I can't get mad at Fiveman. Those shows are kind of weird and strange (and kinda boring) to watch now, but it's obvious to me how they're necessary links in Sentai's process of evolution. Just as Fiveman figured out how stunts and FX would work in the 90s, Goggle V kind of figured out what Sentai really couldn't be if it was to survive.
Go-onger is absolutely a worse show than Turboranger. I think there was a sincere desire to make a good show with Turboranger, but things just didn't work out. The production team was too burnt out, the budget too small, and the concept too ambitious. I can imagine any number of ways Turboranger could've been good series, and I think its failings taught Soda's successors a lot of good and necessary lessons.
When it comes to Go-onger, I think everyone involved knew exactly what they were making and just didn't fucking care. Go-onger initiates a process of sustained devolution in Sentai, and really digs the franchise into a hole that it still hasn't gotten out of. I think Shinkenger was a big hit simply because its production team couldn't have been influenced by Go-onger, whereas everything from Goseiger on has suffered from it.
Anyway, some people get kind of mad when a 'bad' show gets subbed over a 'good' show. But there's no accounting for taste, and if a translator wants to get all of Turboranger or Goggle V or whatever out there, why stop them? People ultimately do their best work, whether on classics or kitsch, when they're motivated and they really enjoy the material. If the bad stuff is subbed, then people can at least watch it and form their own opinions.
