NAME THE WORST SUPER SENTAI SERIES YOU'VE EVER WATCHED

I'll give you Hurricanger because I haven't seen that. But you forgot Timeranger, which is WAY better.

TimeRanger was before GaoRanger. TimeRanger ends the series for the 90s while GaoRanger begins the series from 00. Every series from Jetman-TimeRanger was great, and I'll take even the weaker ones like MegaRanger over most of the 00s.

Also, WTF?! Dekaranger had bad MECHA designs? Since when? Deka-Bouken had some of the best mecha designs this decade. And its not supposed to have a plot. That's the idea; its a bunch of self-contained arcs, not one continuous story.

And that was its major downfall. It had no continuous plots, which is what a Toku series is supposed to have. If I wanted to watch self contained stories, I would watch CSI or something. I watch Japanese shows in general for an ongoing storyline.

Boukenger was awesome, no matter how frequently Shougo tries to convince me otherwise. :P BoukenRed is one of my favorite Reds of all time, the multiple villain idea was unique and fit the concept, and the fact that they were pros that went head to head with the main villains of each group was enjoyable.

I will agree with you on some of your points.

Shinkenger....okay, so people keep saying Doukoku didn't do anything...but what main series villain DOES until the end? What kind of complaint is that? At least Doukoku has a reason too. And if he DID take the stage...what? He pops up and owns the team then leaves? Things I Hate In Sentai: When the villain CLEARLY could've killed the team and moved on, but leaves them alive for no discernible reason. I'm also not sure how there was "nothing samurai about the series".

Tranzan, Shadam, Zylpheeza, Salamandes, and Rio to name a few. I think the problem lies more in the fact that Doukoku had no development at all. They could have at least given him some type of origin story or something.

...You think, maybe, they did that on purpose? "Holy crap our villains are REALLY dark this year...we should probably do light heroes so kids don't get nightmares."

:eyebrow:

Did you watch that entire series? because from everything you've listed as watching it seems you really haven't even completed a single series yet have opinions on all of them as if you've watched them beginning to end.

Finished Maskman. Finished Gaoranger. Finished Dekaranger. Finished Magiranger. Gekiranger. Dropped Go-Onger after 38. Shinkenger. Let's not do this, Knight. I watched Geki from beginning to end, and I just fail to see why people skeet their pants over it.

Uhhh...that's not how it works. Its Timeranger to Shinkenger, not Gaoranger to Goseiger.

Who says? I'm not saying Dekaranger did it the best that it could be done, but why force the medium into a box that way because "this is the way they've always done it".

No, the decades are 81-90, 91-00, 01-10, 11-20, etc. No year or decade could start at 0 otherwise it would have never existed.

Thus, Sun Vulcan-Fiveman, Jetman-TimeRanger, GaoRanger-Goseiger.

First off, if it ain't broke, why fix it? Sentai works with continuous plots, so there is no need to make each storyline individualized. Besides, individual stories are fine for a 13 episode series, but when you are a 50 episode series, you need something to bring them together.

Secondly, I think the major problem I do have with DekaRanger is the same I have with Hurricanger and such, they took absolutely no risks. There were no consequences for their actions. No one truly got hurt. No one died. None of that. They are cops, and yet, they never get injured on duty? In AbaRanger, AbareKiller died for his actions. We see Jan get poisoned and nearly killed by the Five Deadly Venoms in GekiRanger. In Gao, the rangers get killed (albeit, temporarily). They had consequences. In Hurricanger or DekaRanger, the highest consequence a ranger suffered was being scolded.

I noticed that it has always been a matter of debate whether if a show can be good or not, if it was episodic, or if it was arcy. Anyone think there should be a thread discussing that?

actually i don't think that got sentai is worst because every sentai got their own special way...so i love all the sentai very much...

Yeeeees, I'd love to see someone make one. That way I can question why people didnt think Bouken was gonna be an episodic series....I mean c'mon! You can totally tell that its one by reading the show description XD

Shinkenger SLAYS JAKQ. The only real good thing about JAKQ was Big One, the series itself was fun aswell but nowhere near as wicked as Shinkenger was.
