Okay, so I'd say I'm pretty secure in my age and sexuality. I watch kaiju and some henshin stuff. Cool, whatever. I'm not above watching a kids movie. Whatever.
But I still can't fathom what would draw people outside its target audience to go watch this. Which is why I've been pretty amused that My Little Pony has been all the rage, it seems. I mean, sure, whatever, the show may be well-made, but I'm not a preteen girl, so why the hell would I watch it?
...then Daikamonohashi trapped me and made me watch an episode last night.
It was the "racism" episode. Episode 9. I'll admit. I smiled. Laughed, even. There's something strangely appealing about those weird, deformed-looking equines, and the art style was pretty rad.
And yeah, it was a well-put together episode. Good comic timing and honest-to-God funny moments. A solid show. I see why it gets its praise.
...But I ain't about to go download any episodes to watch myself.
...my favorite pony is Twilight Sparkle.
