Most historic sentai seasons

This brings a good point. What Sentai has set the standard? It seems as though the majority of the Sentai watchers basically watch for a few years as kids and that's it and are replaced by newer kids to the point where everybody under the age of like 30 in Japan had watched a Sentai show at some point in their life. (Similar to PR here, till Disney took over)

I mean how do they know they had a good Sentai? Seems as if its been "K here's 50 eps, ratings were good enough, merchandise sold well, the suits are pleased, ok keep it rolling onto the next season" for years now. I know they were considering pulling the plug after Ohranger if Carranger didn't do better which it did. But all Sentai seems to be is just good enough for this year and they move on. What do they hold the standard to? I mean Star Trek is a similar long running series and Next Generation is pretty much agreed to be the best of the best that every show has to be compared to. What's Sentai's equivalent?

Mmhmm.

And for some reason, that whole seasons weapons, armor, and such just...fits. Everything about it feels very fluid and concise.

And I'm not even going to go into the final ep. rollcall, but just to say I think its a first in sentai history.

I don't hold it to any standards except my own. If the characters are enjoyable, if the show is entertaining (either in the badass way (Shinkenger) the Hilarious way (Go-onger) or a combination of the two (Gekiranger) I'm gonna be watching it.

I'm sure it's an old answer by now but it's a business thing. If profits are good then it's an indication that it'll continue for another year. Which, in itself, is quite frustrating for a true fan of the franchise.

Sentai didn't really come into its own until Changeman, IMO. The wheels were starting to turn with Dynaman, the train began moving with Bioman, but went full speed with Changeman.

Well said and completely agreed. The train went full speed right until Turboranger ended and I think got started up again when Jetman began.

I thought Abarangers introduced some pretty fun stuff for the current era.
The talking mecha, for instance, was first in Aba, if I'm not wrong? Tyranno, Ptera and Tricera were totally awesome! And then there's TopGaler...

And there's the Kyouryuuya(Dinosaur House) which sells curry, it has been mentioned in every single team up since Aba!
eg
-Doggie used to be a regular
-Swan too
-The Magirangers' mother(?) or something
-The repair technician at the Boukengers' base
-Miki frequents the store
-Hanto used to work part time there

this might sound crazy, but i thought go-onger was historic. :O_O: having both gold and silver appear at the same time and the crazy yet awesome formation of Engine-Oh G-12:castlerock:

Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGo-V
Mirai Sentai Timeranger
Choudenshi Bioman
Choujuu Sentai Liveman
Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger
Mahou Sentai Magiranger
Choushinsei Flashman
Gekisou Sentai Carranger
Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuranger
Gosei Sentai Dairanger
Seijuu Sentai Gingaman

That's quite a list. Care to explain the reasons for some of them? Just curious.
