Over a a hundred years ago man began to leave earth and live among the stars. It was a time marked by almost constant conflict with periods of peace in between. It was an age where war was waged through the use of humanoid combat mechs known as mobile suits, and throughout this time of reccuring warfare was another recurring element that seemed to pop up in every era. A single mobile suit, and many modeled after it, that became a symbol of power and heroism: the Gundam. In time though peace was reached, leading to the dismantling of many of the combat based mobile suits. It seemed that the era of mobile suit based combat and the Gundam would go on to be things of the past.

The Jupiter Frontier, the colonies farthest from earth named for the planet they are situated around. Of all the colonies it is the furthest away from earth and as such are able to operate more independantly than the other colony clusters have in the past. Aside from a program where various groups of students or high profile members of certain organizations are exchanged between the two, there tends to be very little interaction between the Jupiter Frontier and Earth. Life there is quite difficult, outside of a ruling Aristocracy everyone's lives are predetermined according to a genetic aptitude test. A concept that would be appauling to many from earth, but also a concept that has allowed them to flourish technologically and function suprisinggly well in spite of the far less abundant resources in comparison to the colonies closer to earth. The ruling aristocracy is not bound by such restrictions, and as such live quite comfortably thanks to the work of the lower class citizens, and govern the colonies as they see fit, believing that the lower class rabble needs to be properly led by a ruling upper class like them. The family with the most power, the Lagrasso family led by Ochoa Lagrasso is a firm believer in this philosophy, even more so than the the others who sometimes sympathize with the lower class citizens, so much so in fact that they believe that they must seize control of the other colonies and earth itself in order to install proper society into each of them. With this goal in mind he has risen to power of the newly christened Jupiter Ascendancy, and backed by the other ruling families has begun massing an invasion army to seize control. With the Earth's and many of the other colonies lacking in defenses it seems inevitable that they will be completely taken by suprise with little more than old museum pieces to defend themselves.

There is only one road block that stands in there way now. A group of intergalactic pirates which utilize mobile suits of their own known as the Crossbone Vangaurd. A group which seemingly came out of nowhere and began assaulting various ships and installations of the Jupiter Ascendancy and stealing whatever they can get their hands of. At it's core is the massive battleship Caladrius, bigger than any of the battleships of the past it posseses an internal mobile suit production facility which produces the Libertad and Vandal class mobile suits as well as maintenance bays in order to maintain, and of course enough room for the living space for the pilots of these machines. But the most iconic symbol of this group is a group of three mobile suits known as the Crossbone Gundams.

Jupiter Mobile Suits:
As the name suggests these are the mobile suits used by thee Jupiter Ascendancy. Most are mass produced models though there are unique models used by soldiers from the ruling class. Talented pilots are permitted to use custom colors

JA-01 Soldado

Fixed armaments: 2-barrel beam gun, mounted on left forearm; beam shield, mounted on left forearm; beam saber, recharge rack/storage location unknown, hand-carried in use
Optional hand armaments: shot lancer with mounted 2-barrel heavy machine gun
The most widely used model as well as the first model produced by the Jupiter ascendancy. It specializes mostly in close combat and combat within colonies but can fight at a distance when needed.

JA-02 Soldado Mejor

A variation of the Soldado unito that is more well rounded than it's sibling unit.

JA-03 Ancho Ojo

Remote weapons: remote-controlled/automated reconnaissance pod, stored on right shoulder storage rack, equipped with advanced sensor and camera systems, armed with unknown automated defensive weapons
A reconnaisance unit that is noticably smaller than it then the Soldado type units equipped with numerous sensors. Due to the sensitivity of it's recon equipment it is given a standard shield rather than a beam shield.

JA-04 Ojo Lider

Fixed armaments: 3-barrel scattering beam gun, mounted on torso; beam saber, stored in recharge rack in rear waist armor, hand-carried in use
Optional hand armaments: beam rifle, powered by rechargeable energy cap; shield, can be optionally mounted on either forearm
A command recon unit meant to work along with the Ancho Ojo units. Has superior combat abilities in comparison to the Ancho Ojo

JA-05 Conquista (Unique unit)

A command unit intended specifically for nobility. Posses all around superior capabilities compared to normal units. There are only a few in service.

JA-06 Valiente (Unique Unit)

Based on the Soldado mobile suits used by the Jupiter Ascendancy with some tweaks by the Vanguard this has become one of the main units used by the Vanguard. It sports the signature anti-beam cape that all Vanguard mobile suits use.

A more unique model used by the Vanguard. Like the Libertad it's a simple but easy to use unit. Unlike the Libertad though it has almost no fixed armanents and relies on optional equipment as far as weapons go. It remains popular because of it's customizability.

The Crossbone Gundams:
The signature units of the Vanguard they all posses the same base equipment in addition to signature weapons as well as a core block system for emergency escapes.

History: Born into illustrious Von Nolusson amily of the Jupiter Ascendancy it is obvious that he had been living a nice comfortable life in the opper colonies in the Jupiter Frontier, giving little thought to the lives of those in the lower castes as all members of the aristocracy had been taught since a young age. It was only through the exchange program with earth did he truly begin to see that the way things worked in the frontier wasnt the way it worked everywhere else. At first he was startled by the more free lifestyle of the citizens within the earth sphere but he soon grew to see the merits of it and how it promoted things like creativity and the arts, giving those worlds a more rich culture that wasnt reserved for just one selected caste of people. He grew to value the earth and it's people, but when he returned home he kept quiet about those thoughts and behaved as a proper Jovian noble should. After returning from another trip to earth he found that his family and the others in the Aristocracy had been invited to a large gathering hosted by the Lagrasso family where Ochoa Lagrasso announced his plan to spread the a more "proper society" throughout the galaxy, ranting about how he found the things that Luke appreciated about the other colonies and earth to be disgusting and stifling to progress.

While he had stifled his appreciation toward earth for so long, he found himself unable to sit by and watch as this happened. He had to do something to try and stop this and thus he was set on the path to forming the Crossbone Vanguard. Utilizing his connections and resources he built up a group of allies from the earth sphere colonies and dissatisfied members of the lower class of the Jupiter Frontier while he had secretely comissioned the construction of the Caladrius. He went on to begin to meet with his allies to formulate mobile suits design, resulting in the Libertad class, and most importantly the three mobile suits inspired by the heroic machines from Earth's history. With the construction of the Caladrius complete as well as the gundams and allies the stage was set for him to begin his rebellion under the guise of piracy.

While he is considered the leader of the Vanguard, or at least someone with a high rank within the group, he is infact not the captain of the Caladrius as he preferred to take an active role in combat rather than giving orders from the bridge, though he does serve as the first officer of the ship during non combat situations. Since the day of the Vanguard's formation he has gone by the alias of Weiss Corvus as he was fairly sure that using his real name would cause more harm than good for the group, as well as bring up questions of his loyalty toward the non-founding members of the group. Despite the piracy aspect of the Vanguard being mostly a front for a resistance movement he embraces a the stereotypical image of one when on the battlefield, often sticking to the more dramatic looking or theatrical actions in a battle over the practical. Feeling that it gives him a decidely more heroic image to win over more support he wont hesitate to rush in with guns blazing, or sabers swinging in a dramatic fashion or jumping right from the Caladrius onto another ship and directly attacking it.

To further disguise his identity from those on the opposing side he will often wear a mask into battle, just in case he finds himself in a situation where he may have to exit the cockpit such as raids on Jupiter's supply vessels or the kidnapping of a high profile member of the Ascendancy. He rarely chooses to wear a pilot suit as an effort to display a certain fearlessness in hopes off inspiring his allies

Name: Stray

Alias: Silvestro Manigoldo

Age: 18

History: Having been born on to the streets of one of the colonies in the Jupiter Frontier, Stray never knew who his family was, or even was his real name was suppose to him. He grew up along a group of other street kids, who gave him his name due to Stray's habit of often wandering away from the group to do his own thing. All the kids in the gang regularly attended a help center for homeless or orphaned children that was set up in the colony. The people in the center would not judge the kids for their filthy and uncultured appearance and behavior, or for their notoriety of stealing food and supplies from stores in the market. Instead, the center would give the kids food, new cloths, and even a warm place to sleep through the coldest nights in the colony. Growing up, the gang and the help center were the closest thing Stray had to a real family and home.

One day, when Stray was already a teenager, the center had special event in which the provided for the kids to take the genetic aptitude test, going as far as to producing proper IDs for them, in hopes that those who did well enough would receive help from the government and have a chance at a life out of the streets. Stray decided to take the test, simply not to let the center's efforts go to waste. Everyone was surprised when they Stray's results ended up being one of the highest that the Jupiter Frontier had ever seen. Hoping to sooth the growing anti-aristocracy among the lower class, the government planned to turn Stray into a "inspiring" story about a poor kids that was given a chance to make it in the Frontier, and it started by inviting Stray to a day of competition at the Frontier's most prestigious school. Once again, everyone was shocked when Stray ended up surpassing the aristocrat students in every event, be it physical or intellectual. Humiliated, one of the high class families planned to completely erase Stray from existence, by making it seem like an accident in which the help center blew up.

There was a snag in the plan and the bomb went off while Stray was away, but it did manage to kill everyone he ever care about. Not wanting to cut their loses, the family sent its people after Stray to simply eliminate him. The chased him to the streets of the colonies and into the space docks where, out of desperation, Stray hacked into a cargo ship's door and hid there just as the ship was about to take off. Due to the low oxygen inside in the cargo room, Stray ended up passing out as the ship moved towards a clandestine facility on a nearby asteroid. When Stray woke up, the first thing he saw was the incomplete Crossbone X2 standing over him. The young man simply starred at it in complete awe as the Crossbone Vanguard officials enter the room. Impressed that a young man had hacked their cargo ship, the Vanguard offered Stray a place among their ranks. Having been left with no where else to go, Stray accepted with only one condition, that he would be allowed to with the Gundam.

As a member of the Crossbone Vanguard, Stray helps them find information on the streets he knows so well. In the colonies, he still uses the ID that the center gave him, Silvestro Manigoldo, as it has some pull with the government and a hold over the family that tried to kill him. Stray is also training to one day be made the official pilot of Crossbone X2. However, despite being a loyal member of the Vanguard, Stray's allegiances in reality lie with self-preservation and the Crossbone X2 itself.

History: Born into one of the Aristocrats families, the LaRues sponsors and encourages in the fine enrichments of the fine arts it is self-evident that she had been living rather a nice comfortable lifestyle in the upper colonies in the Jupiter Frontier. A young debutante whom was to give little thought to the lives of those of the lower castes like all members of the aristocracy had been taught at such a young age. Though these teachings were brought about the boarding schools Carolynn’s parents brought another teaching secretly into their daughter’s lessons. Sworn to utter secrecy never to reveal outside of their inner family, Carolynn struggled to keep these viewpoints from butting heads with the rest of the community. How she hated it so. As not to disgrace the family name follow her parent’s instructions like any obedient child love for their parents.

The LaRues were always invited to many several special events and banquets due to their contributions did Carolynn first encountered Luke Von Nolusson. Unlike the other young men gathered at these events saw something in him at the time could not describe at the time. A friendship was forging between them she continued to keep her own families viewpoint to herself not knowing how he will react. When word of Luke’s acceptation into the exchange program with earth could not participate herself as she was need to stay home for reasons her mother would not inclined why.

When Luke had return there was a subtle change not noticed by anyone aside for herself from his return. Had something happen during the exchange program? The young buxom woman unfortunately did not have much of an opportunity to speak with him in private could only watch him from a distance. Such an opportunity revealed itself after an invitation to attend a large social gathered hosted by the Lagrasso family. Ochoa Lagrasso announced his plan to spread a more “proper society” throughout the galaxy, ranting about the other colonies and earth to be disgusting and stifling to progress.

None of the other families gathered opposed of this plan save that of her father and mother. When asked why they had wanted no part of Ochoa’s ideal order Carolynn’s father merely implied that they did not think of it as progress and left. From their accusations surfaced that they were traitors and arbitrated ties with those standing in their way of progress. After investigation it was publicity revealed to the other Aristocrats that Carolynn’s father was that of nobility her mother was not. Carolynn learned soon enough that her mother was born from that of the lower class. To them one class did not matter in terms of the heart or building for a better future. It made sense now why her parents did not follow the traditional teachings at home. A home they were no longer welcome as it was treason for any upper class to take on a husband/wife outside their class. In the safety of the night the LaRue’s fled from their home to avoid detection and face the penalty of their actions. Before vanishing of the face of Jupiter Frontier she craftily left a message behind for Luke wishing him to be well and stay safe. She had no idea at that time that his time on Earth changed him too.

With no other place to go the LaRues took refuge on Earth amongst colonies. Rather sitting doing nothing like her parents worked hard with those to be forming the Crossbone Vanguard. The Crossbone Vanguard to her meant a means stopping Ochoa’s insane plan to enslave the other colonies and earth. It is within her strong belief if a better tomorrow is to be forge one must over look ones class and where they come from. Only then can we move forward. Carolynn did not realize at the time would see her old friend as the founding person behind this revolution. A reunion she had always hope come to pass after receiving an invitation by a masked man known as Weiss Corvus, which could tell it was him easily.

Time spent on earth has made Carolynn grow more in nature taking more of an actively role helping and organize their efforts. To finalize her transformation from the once debutante goes by the name Misha Silverblade. The two sat down conversing only a little about old times, but what the needed to do opposing the Ascendancy. Sharing the same dream accepted being the captain of the Caladrius that Weiss can take the more active role in combat.

Name: Miriam Lagrasso

Age: 18

History: As the youngest daughter in the Lagrasso family, Miriam has had her father's teachings driven into her time and time again, leaving her to think that there is little else besides what he thinks and can not imagine any other life than one of a Jovian Noble. Though she did have a chance to go on a trip to Earth at once, she declined, thinking that she was beneath such visits by that point.

Since she idolizes her father's ways so much, she took it upon herself to help spread those notions through force, and insisted on getting mobile suit piloting lessons. At first, she was absolutely terrible in the cockpit, her simulations scores reflecting this. Eventually though, she did make improvements, so much so that once she finished the simulations, her father gave her a Conquista with a custom yellow paint job, which was a color that she favored since she was a child.

By this point, she also developed some sort of "rivalry" with Tia Schwarz, where she would try to mess the minor noble whenever she could. The reason why she would eventually go to such extremes against her is because she didn't want some minor noble to eventually outshine her, a Lagrasso, in anything, whether that be in piloting or in demeanor. When she ordered the Schwarz estate to be attacked, she didn't know that Tia was away, as her original intention was to kill everyone there. She's very annoyed that she didn't manage to kill any of them, but can't follow up on it since she already played her hand.

Though she realizes that there are those among the nobility that would rather see her not pilot anything and just stay in her family's palace, she doesn't pay any mind to them. As far as she is concerned, she is going to bring her father's dreams to fruition with her own skills and attain a comfortable position in the new order...who knows, maybe even become the next in line to run things, if she does very well.

Miriam is brash, arrogant, and prideful. She is very sure in her own honed abilities and won't hesitate to mock a rival pilot if she has the advantage. She really does believe in her father's words and plans, willing to support them however she can, since her father has been so kind to her over the years, to the point of spoiling her.

Name: Tia Schwarz

Alias: Black Cross

Age: 21

Appearance:

Mobile Suit: JA-02 Soldado Mejor (Crossbone colors, with a Black Cross displayed on the left shoulder)

History: Tia belonged to a family of mostly diminished nobility and, though their lives were better than the common people, they were still not given much respect by most of the other nobility. Still, she tried her best to wear her family crest, a black cross, with pride and hoped that the genetic aptitude test would put her in a good position to gain as much fame as she could. Thankfully for her, she was placed to be a pilot and took her tests seriously.

During these tests, she drew the attention of Miriam Lagrasso, who felt threatened by Tia's test scores and results in the simulations, despite her getting better with each day. Using her connections, Miriam was able to make sure that Tia would not get any of the mobile suits used by the nobility. Even though Tia knew she was being slighted, she didn't want to get into an argument with the daughter of the Lagrasso family, so she accepted being assigned a Soldado Mejor, which she proudly put her family crest on.

Put in charge of a small squad where most of her comrades were non-nobles (again, thanks to Miriam's meddling), she was willing to lead her squad with pride when she got word from her parents about how they were able to secure a place for her in an exchange program to visit Earth for a short while. Though she was hesitant, she eventually accepted and proceeded to visit Earth. What she saw there surprised her, since things looked more...vibrant and free, not to mention that everyone seemed to be enjoying their lives much more, whether they be noble or not.

She would return home and tell her parents of the sights she saw, but tragedy struck. She found her family estate razed and her parents near dead. This was again the work of Miriam, who just didn't know when to quit when it came to messing with her supposed "rival". With her parents recovering in the hospital, Tia had enough. Seeing how the current system was corrupt and would allow things like this, she felt that it needed to change, probably to something more like Earth's current system. It was easy for her to convince her squad to defect with her while they were out on a recon mission, since they were all mostly non-nobles and felt the same way as her. Now with the Crossbone Vanguard, she has changed her Soldado's color scheme to be more in line with them, adding an anti-beam cloak with it. Her family crest, however, is still displayed in plain sight.

Tia, personality wise, is usually a quiet soul, though she is very passionate in her duties and beliefs. She still doesn't know what she did to make Miriam do all this stuff to her, so she is more likely to disable and capture the Lagrasso, should she ever encounter her, if only to get some answers. What she does from there is how Miriam answers, since Tia can also be quite hot-blooded when she wants to be.

Name: Alexander Von Nolusson

Age: 19

Appearance:

Mobile Suit: JA-06 Valiente, JA-01 Soldado


History: The younger brother of Luke Von Nolusson and the only other son of the Von Nolusson family. Like his brother he grew up in a life surrounded by gatherings of nobility where reputation and standing among others was the key to success, well that and proper exploitation of the lower classes. What he lacked was his brother's life changing experience on earth, absolutely detesting the idea of going down to that backwards world. When Ochoa announced his plans to capture and subjugate the other colonies and eventually earth he was all for it and would be ready to fight alongside his brother in pursuit of the Ascendany's goals. At least that was until his brother's supposed death at the hands of the Crossbone Vanguard which shattered that vision of the future. Since then he has dedicated himself to piloting and to defeating the Crossbone Vanguard's leader Weiss Corvus. Unknown to him Luke had faked his own demise and that Luke himself is Weiss Corvus.

Due to his dedication, skill and the Von Nolusson family's record of service Ochoa saw fit to grant him the use of the a Valiente class mobile suit. Due to not wanting to waste the Valiente on lesser enemies he has also been known to make use of Soldado class mobile suits.

Name: Mikhail Lagrasso

Age: 24

Mobile Suit: JA-05 Conquista

History: The oldest of the Lagrasso siblings and only child of Ochoa and his first wife Mikhail is a calm and collected individual who in additon to being a charismatic figure within the Ascendancy is also a skilled pilot and commander on the battlefield. Being the oldest he is the heir to the empire that Ochoa has built up and his whole life has been devoted to properly preparing him for that role. Having been taught everything by his father he is a skilled manipulator who has a talent for getting even the most bitter commoners to be willing to lay down their lives for him simply by giving a rousing speech to them. More often than not he will speak to them in a way that will make them feel important within the Ascendancy often promising them opportunities move up the social structure for exemplary service, only to subtly ensure that they never make it that far. He is a firm supporter of his father's plans but some suspect he intends to take his father's place sooner than expected. He often fights alongside Guerro type mobile suits and has taken an interest in Alexander's career as a pilot as well as his motivations for fighting the Crossbone Vanguard and acts as sort of an older brother figure to him in place of the his old friend Luke who apparently fell at the hands of the Vanguard. Due to the attitudes of his younger siblings he often finds himself having to rescue them from the situations they get themselves into.

History: The middle Lagrasso sibling and first of two children Ochoa had with his second wife. Unlike his older brother Mikhail, Gabriel is an easily excitable glory seeker who does all he can to steal the spotlight from any other pilots on the battlefield. Jealous of Mikhail's postion as Ochoa's heir he has resolve to snatch as much glory from him as possible and hopefully take his place at some point. With the key to achievement within the Ascendancy forces being the amount of enemies killed off he has had his Conquista class mobile suit painted in a bright gold color scheme which catches the eyes of all others on the battlefield, attracting their attention and bringing more targets too him. He may actually be smarter than he initially appears but if he is he does a good job of hiding it.

Name: Watanabe “Zero” Ryusei

History: A servant proven in combat, Zero was from a servant family which serves one of the aristocracy’s houses of the Jupiter Empire. When the master of his house went to war and joined up with the main house the Lagrasso, he became one of the servants which were conscripted into the war. His house was obviously swallowed up by the bigger ambitions of the ascendency. And soon their identities were mostly forgotten as they became vassals to the Lagrasso. The only distinction that remains for this house is their knight’s crest a flower symbol still attaches to their uniform arms and Mobile Suit’s shoulders.
Zero is a very pragmatic person, who usually just does as he is told without much questioning. He started his life working as a butler and then was changed into an infantry soldier during the wars that happened between the houses before the current conflict. Surviving that civil war made him battle harden, in combat with his mobile suit he prefers to fight close up as possible to make his mobile suit most effective. He has been known to be someone who wastes resources as he had gone through 3 mobiles suit before he has reach his current one, for his wreck less combat charges. Because Zero is such the kind of person he’s had never questioned, but lately something are beginning to change his mind.
