Materials used in Kamen Rider suits?

- O_O Okay, I assumed no one would be doing 1/6 figs, guess I was dead wrong. I'm currently working on a 1/6 IXA, but that's by cutting up the 28cm "Big Soft Vinyl" figure and putting it onto a Dragon body.

Your work looks fantastic, judging by those pics. Is it OK if I PM you on occasion if I come up with a sticky problem with my projects? ^_^

Clear Resin sounds pretty good, but I guess that means I still have to sculpt a master out of clay or epoxy putty and mold it. From what I hear about Apoxie, it cures much faster than Milliput, but otherwise is the same. I might decide to give it a try, though I've got LOTS of Milliput at home, so...^_^

Thanks!

No problem, hit me up whenever you need anything.

You don't have to sculpt a new master if you don't want. What I did was cut out the original eyes and molded them to make the clear ones and backed it with aluminum foil that was scored with the textured grip of an x-acto knife for the texture.

Why's it always got to be Kamen Rider? How bout asking about the material in all tokusatsu suits. everyone fucking favorites kamen rider.

Kamen Rider is made of different material than Sentai or Ultraman. Since the latter two are almost always made out of spandex and vinyl/rubber respectively, asking for toku in general is a little vague if they only want just what Kamen Rider material is made out of. Or they could be more specific about which series. Ala FIRSTy/NEXTy Riders are primarily made out of pleather while the body suit for Kuuga or Agito is made out of leather or soft vinyl.

In my case, it's the armor parts (chest, helmet, goves) specifically I wanted to know about--should have clarified at the beginning, sorry.

Okay...the suit is currently on hold because the black bodysuit I ordered is on BACKORDER and won't be delivered for a long while. I'm not a happy camper right now.

While we're at it, though: Chalice, you made a Kiva in 1/6 out of the Vinyl figs, what did you use to emulate all those designs on the Kiva uit; i.e. the things like veins, etc?

The cheapest ways would be to use paper mache or cardboard and paint over it.

The slightly less cheaper way would be to make a base out of cardboard, card stock, or whatever and cover it in fiber glass resin and bondo.
