Love Plus+ Bundle nearly causes Riot, extreme scalping

So that most notorious of Girlfriend Simulators sequel is getting a special, limited edition DSi LL bundle, in three types:

Anyway, people had been lining up at a Sofmap store in Akihabara since like a a few nights ago. To avoid any trouble, the store handed queue tickets and told them to go home, and to come on the first train to the local station rather than wait all night.

So they all did, no problem right?

Well, when they came back in the morning there was a MASSIVE line up of Love Plus Otaku there for the bundles, all of who came that morning.

the Usual scuffles that are inevitable when such a large group of feverish fans gather in one place, usually over who is hotter and the like, happened but ntohing out of hand.

Then came word from the store that only those that had queue tickets would be able to get the bundles.

ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE

The cops came and narrowly averted a mass Riot of Enraged, and quite pathetic, Love Plus fans. But some damage was done.

Here is another sad part, the whole shebang wasn't even to buy the packs, but to Pre-Order them...........

To make matters worse, Pre-Orders for the pack's sold out in SECONDS from online retailers, most of which where snapped up by Scalpers and then appeared on auction sites with astronomical mark up (of several hundred percent at least). the cheapest pack on Ebay is $650.

Secondly, who'd wanna pay $650 for a Nintendo DS Love Dating sim?

Well Japan may have their lonely miserable Otaku bastards who have nothing better to do than either date cartoon characters, stalk voice actresses, and rampage shops to buy limited edition versions of Love Plus..

..but in the west we still have teenage girls who go apeshit over boybands, Justin Bieber and other assholes.

I know getting a girlfriend, real or not, is easier said than done, but... GET A REAL GIRLFRIEND YOU BASTARDS!!!

it's not just the game, but also a limited run DSi LL with one of three girls silkscreened on it!

Well, the reasons they use for preferring 2D woman to 3D ons ares that they never cheat on you, always stroke your ego, never get pregnant and never spend your money.

Really though, I'm not that surprised. Japan's fandoms have always been...eccentric. And when we get to something like this, a subset of a fandom (or even a subset of a subset), the eccentricity tends to multiply. Add into the equation the mob mentality, and it's no big shock that this happened. Japanese fans take this **** too seriously.
