I've watched the first and second season, its damn nice. While, I dont have much time to watch the third one thru. Anyway its epic for me since im a Fahrenheit fans!:laugh:

So this is a decent series? I've been wanting to get into C-Drama series for some time now and it appealed to me before. Thanks for saying they're tied together. How closely? Like, one show leads into another, or really loose stuff?

I don't think the third season ties in too deeply, but I know the first two seem rather interconnected...'cause lord knows I was totally confused when I randomly dived into the first episode of X-Family, which is the only show I've seen of the three. They're very much in the style of American soap opera...with a bit of a sci-fi element. I liked it, but I have a high cheese tolerance.
Though the thing that does annoy me is the constant splattering of "gold/iron" when the setting changes between worlds.

I watched the first episode and it was totally WTF. Amusing bits, but 60+ minutes and they couldn't give me ONE fight scene? Gah. Too much of a tease.
I'll do 2 tonight to see if it gets better fight-wise, but if not I might put this on hold until I have sufficient free time.

The very beginning, with KO One. Since you've seen X-Family, perhaps you can help me?
Are there actual FIGHTS in this series, or just bits where the guys on the "KO charts" beat up normal people behind a screen or something?
The series is funny so far, but I and my friend got into this series for fights.

I talked about this show a lot in the recent HJU podcast we just recorded so I wanted to hop back on in this thread.
They're tied together by means of being different dimensions in the same world. But you DO need to watch them in order.
The third season ties in deeply, you just have to get far enough to see how.
You need to watch KO One before you watch X Family. It sets up a lot more.
And the gold and iron names go away after they believe you've got a firm grasp of which world they're in when it changes over. It gets to where there's not much interworld changing at all and it doesn't really need it.
The thing to learn about TW-dramas (not C-dramas, TW and C are veeeeeery different. KO One is TW) is that they start with very DUMB beginnings. But the typical formula is, the more silly the beginning is, the more heavy the end is. It's their way of creating a "balance" in the story. The beginning silly eps just bring you into the 'world' and introduce all the things about it. Then it will progressively get heavier. The finale for KO One *and* X Family had me crying they were so heavy. You also get some great fights and very heartwrenching fights too
There are actual fights. With what I said above, the shows have a balance of starting silly and stupid and finishing up heavy and intense. Enjoy the ride for the first two episodes cuz once the twists start it's pretty crazy. The ONLY arc I didn't like is the An Qi arc from KO One. It was pretty much there to add more to an existing storyline but I don't like the direction Wang Da Dong took during it. Nevertheless it's still part of a fabulous show. X Family is a bit daunting to start because it's got a LOOOOOT of eps and some eps are filler. But it's very very well worth it

Right. So my friend Traveler and I made it up to Episode 8 of this series Saturday. A few things:
1.) Wow, Lei Ki Si is a bastard. But not quite a Magnificent Bastard, since he fell apart just 'cause he couldn't get some random broad. Oh well. Down he goes!
2.) So, the Battle Index thing. Its not steady, which is a good thing, but can you actually improve it with training/fights, or what? Its been unclear so far.
3.) I'm eight episodes in and the most impressive fight I've seen so far is the one against Lei Ki Si. Which, in all honesty, wasn't anything to brag about but with my expectations so low, it wasn't bad. AM hoping they step it up, though.
4.) WOW these episodes are freaking long. When we downloaded #1, we both thought, "Opening episodes are always long. I'm sure by episode 2 they'll have shortened it to the standard 44, 45 minutes."
And yet, no. Each episode is 67-68 minutes long. That's...feature film length. It DOES give them time to set up stories, develop and wrap them up in one episode, though.
Hm...is the An Qi arc the one I just got finished with, or is that something a little further along? They just introduced the character so its odd to get used to someone who doesn't serve in some sort of fighting capacity in this show.
All-in-all, KO One's apart of my normal watching routine now. I've given up on the fight scenes (I believe you, but I'm just not placing my hopes on them till I see one that I'm particularly impressed by), but the show HAS been amusing so far. (I give leeway to things which keep me laughing, and if nothing else the Michael Jackson moves you see all of them doing at the start are funny.)

wow! i don't even know that i can find ko fans around here! i had aready watched ko one and x family on dvd when i saw this topic. i am still waiting for the ko3anguo dvd in my country before watching, as i don't watch tw drama on internet. i really like these show but the ending scene is abit too short i think and doesn't explain much what happen later.
