Kamen Rider Wizard EP 48 - "The Philosopher's Stone"

Haruto & Mayu kept their free wills because they chose to become wizards when offered. However Yuzuru & Masahiro refused, and as we've seen Fueki doesn't take no for an answer. If he had respected their wishes, it would have taken longer to find the other two.

Which is somewhat consistent with his 'other people's suffering is insignificant next to mine' remark. It's not a denial of other people's suffering, and that suggests he'd do what he can to lessen it, but only so long as it doesn't interfere with his plans. Haruto and Mayu are willing, so he lessens their suffering by permitting them free will, because it comes at no (immediate) cost to him. Yuzuru and - and Todoroki I can't remember his name are unwilling, so he just brainwashes them. Painfully, if Yuzuru is any indicator - look at that inflammation under his eyes, man.

Really? There are three episodes left, at this time Double only had Kazu left to fight, OOO only had Uva and Maki, and Fourze only had Leo and Sagittarius. I'd say this is pretty normal.

Double had Saeko left as well and at 3 episodes until the finale it was still unclear who she would side with. Additionally, Kazu being the only remaining villain was fine as Accel wasn't in any condition to fight anyway.

In OOO, it was necessary for Date and Gotou to stay out of the final fight to take care of all the trash yummies that appeared. Since there are two Births, it wouldn't have been possible to give them both distinct opponents. Therefore, they get crowd control.

As I said in a later post, I like how Fourze handled their finale. Two opponents left to fight against two riders. No complaints there.

In the context of Wizard though, it's pretty obvious that Nitoh isn't gonna end up in with any satisfactory bouts in the last three episodes. The best thing I can see him doing is fighting White Wizard in order to release Yuzuru and the others from his control. He completes his task, but is seriously wounded in the process. This makes a one on one fight between Haruto and Fueki possible. Either that or he fights golems for the last arc, which is sad.

Looking back, it looks like my complaints are mainly about the lack of satisfactory opponents for secondary riders in the final arc. Those guys are heroes too, y'know.

Thanks for reminding me guys. :) Mayu did become a Wizard on her own free will. But that was only after The White Wizard encouraged her. (with the prospect of revenge) But Haruto wasn't given a choice, he was given a Driver, a Flame Ring, and a unconscious Koyomi. :D

I like how shocked Haruto was about Yamamoto being a Wizard now. What else was going to happen? Mayu told him when she came back that White Wizard wants more Wizards. Don't write Haruto dumb, he isn't supposed to be as far as we have seen.

I hope it isn't terribly anti-climatic waiting for an extra week to watch the next episode.

Pop quiz: If you were in Haruto's shoes would you help Fueki revive Koyomi?

I think so and then kill the weakened and mana-depleted Fueki RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS REVIVED DAUGHTER!!!!! [insert evil laugh here]. OK, but seriously. I would kill him. Blood for blood. The dude killed 20+ people for the CHANCE to revive one, that is unforgivable.

Could of just ditched the jewelry and made off with the husk of a girl. That's what I would do.
Be like Christmas came early this year.... While Fueki is left wondering where the hell you disappeared too. :D

Last time he saw him, he was screaming that he didn't want to be a wizard. And to see him now as one, would be a shock. But Haruto doesn't know that he's under mind control by Fueki.

If I love Koyomi then yeah.

Yeah, I get what you mean now. Though I think Beast will be fighting White Wizard (if the next episode preview is any indication). I feel that White Wizard IS Nitoh's adversary, whereas Wiseman is Haruto's. Beat has gotten the shaft the whole series... So I'm pretty sure he'll end up like Terui. Or worse.

I didn't feel like he was shocked, more reminding himself that Yamamoto is a Wizard too. Why? Because he totally ignored him after he was captured and didn't think about tracking him down (obviously Koyomi is more important and such).

Anyway, the line does feel out of place, I don't know why it was there because the audience probably already know that you need to be a Wizard to be a Rider and don't need the reminder.

That is fair, but he does know that 1) Fueki wants more Wizards and 2) that Yuzuru and Yamamoto have the potential and 3) they got teleported away with him. It just reminds me of Mayu who went away and came back a Wizard. It seems as if it would be obvious to him.
