I don't get Shunpei hate. He's no more useless then every other character in this show that isn't Haruto.

If you watch carefully you will see Shunpei subliminally badmouth J in this episode.

Rinko and Shunpei are on the run in an okay episode of Wizard!

- Hopes were dashed, clothes were ruined, Japan's police force were made to look incompetent, all in another Ishibashi arc of Wizard. And here I was thinking things were going to improve for round 2. The comedy was a tad forced most of the time, the characters and situation far from believable, and while the action was as good as its ever been, it still couldn't save the episode. At least Rinko got a moment to shine and take charge, putting Shunpei in his place and getting the Gate to man up. And she did all of this in heels no less! But in the end, I really, really hope this is Ishibashi's last arc in Wizard and Rider in general. Unless the next Rider is less serious and more wacky then Wizard, then he'll probably be perfect.

- The Plamonsters combine!? Kosuke's reaction said it all:O_O:.

- The real high point of this episode were the Haruto/Kosuke stuff. The two bring out the best in one another, even if it usually comes at Kosuke's expense. And we even got an awesome double Henshin to boot! Now all that's left is the Double Rider Kick... :shakefist

- That ending... just, that ending :redface2:. I know it's meant to be humorous, but using something like a person giving into despair and about to lose himself to a monster residing in his body as a joke just doesn't sit well with me. It just reinforces the fact that Wizard is not supposed to be this wacky, and that when it does it really clashes with the show's theme and characterization. Actually, the fact that it happened at all kinda implies the Phantoms wasted their resources with Nemoto. If they had just left him alone, he probably would have fallen into despair pretty easily.

- It was nice hearing Missing Piece again, though it still doesn't make up for Wizard's bad handling of insert songs throughout it's run.

- Can't wait for next time, as Haruto plays soccer, Wajima encounters an old acquaintance, and all the Dragon Forms go up against Bahamut!

Funny thing is, when I think about it I think he would come off a lot less useless if he was employed...or did something on the side anything. Rinko's a cop, Old Jenkins makes rings, Nitoh is another Wizard (that's hilarious to say) and Koyomi is almost as useless, but she has a mysterious past and troubled present so she can slide.

Shunpei can be gone and not affect w/e the story is whatsoever.

Yeah if he was Wajima's assistant or some **** then that would totally make sense! What if he was a journalist trying to get the big scoop on Phantoms?! Or a physiatrist studying despair?! Cause then he'd have to be there or else he'd be out of a pay check! Instead he's a guy who puts himself in harms way for no other reason then to make sure a fellow human life doesn't cease to exist! Except he doesn't have a belt to protect him! If a he's cornered by a Phantom that's it! Game over! All you do is sit in your mom's basement watching Japanese children shows and you all have the balls to judge him?! Shunpei's more of a man then you'll ever be...

Well, Shunpei started out in this series as someone who had magical aspirations. Now, he actually hangs with someone who really is magical, but nothing has come of it. The story has forgotten his magical aspirations, probably because of what Haruto had to go through to become a wizard in the first place. Still, would have been nice to see them do something with that angle... We have that girl who left with the White Wizard to undergo special training, too bad we couldn't find a way to make Shunpei a wizard in training under Haruto. His goofball moments would be forgivable if he could perform at least 1 helpful spell.
