All Dragon had a much bigger build up and preparation for its introduction than Infinity Style though. The Haruto/Phoenix rivalry, with Phoenix becoming stronger and stronger, lasting from the debut of Fire Dragon to All Dragon's debut, the White Wizard's interest in Haruto's growth, and there was even a two part story leading directly to their actual final battle two part story. All building up to that.

Of course, I guess after Phoenix was finished everything pretty much fell apart. All the upgrades became pointless (Medusa randomly going from matching one Dragon Form to knocking down four Dragon Wizards in one hit shows that pretty well) and All Dragon never appeared again... and now we got this Infinity Style which even further pushes them aside.

Then everything should have pushed towards Infinity Styles, with the big reveal of Infinity Styles being the Drago-Timer and his ability to create four versions of himself. By making it a separate thing and adding one too many power-ups, you trivialize them all.

I don't know how to embed that video, but it's form the moment Haruto is about to be killed by Phoenix to the time he is about to get Flame Dragon.

How does everyone read this?

Kingranger thinks it was a friendly exchange, I think it was "OK, I'll lend you my power, but it WILL (if I can) take you over and bring you to despair."

You're ignoring the end of their dialogue there though. Their dialogue doesn't end with the dragon saying his power will bring Haturo closer to despair, it ends with Haruto saying that the dragon is wrong and his power actually gives him hope, and dragon finding Haruto amusing.

Later appearances of the dragon also haven't shown any antagonism between the dragon and Haruto (like when they fougth and posed together during later underworld battles, while initially Haruto had to take over the dragon with his bike). The dragon's actions in these last two episodes (dying while attempting to protect Beast and his conversation with Haruto) also further reinforce that the dragon isn't an antagonist at this point.

Yeah, not saying that dragon + haruto's relationship has been really well developed, but I think this episode really sent the message that any plot they are going to do about Haruto's power growth being bad is going to come from whtie wizard's machinations. Dragon himself doesn't seem to be presented as an enemy now (which is kinda predictable given his focus in the toys).

Their relationship makes me think of the fox and the frog.... or mouse or rat. Whatever. My dad told me this story as a child and it apparently stuck with me.

A mouse needs to get across a stream, but can't because it isn't stong enough to swim across. A fox offers to taxi it across, saying that it is a nice fox and won't eat the mouse. The mouse climbs on the fox and rides it, but as the water gets deeper, the fox encourages the mouse to go further forward/higher. The mouse ends up on the tip of the fox's nose and he eats it.

The Mouse and the Fox is the closest thing I can find to this fable, but I know there is another story that mirrors the situation. In a nutshell *rim shot* the mouse looked to gain (abundant food=life) form his relationship with the fox, but was consumed and destroyed by it.

When Haruto was getting All Dragon the White Wizard warned him to NOT LET Dragon consume him. Haruto responded with something like, "You better tell him, he'll become my snack."

Does that sound like a true partnership?

Haruto is using Dragon for power and I think Dragon is biding his time, waiting for Haruto to get to the tip of his nose.

Maybe they wont go there, but it seems like a very natural direction.

Dragon IS a Phantom. They are evil as far as we know.

Haruto's relationship with Dragon is like Naruto's relationship with Kyubi. The monsters inside them are antagonistics to them, but continue to provide powers to the heroes due to their own amusement as well as to survive, considering if the heroes die, so will them.

In the end, both heroes managed to befriend the monsters within and fully utilised their powers. However, in Naruto's case, it was after multiple battles within, involving Naruto almost taken over by Kyubi multiple times, Naruto resolving and beat down Kyubi and then finally befriended him with his trust.

As for Haruto, we just skip the whole process. Dragon has gone from an amused Phantom into some heroic figure who died to protect Nitou. No internal struggle, no nothing. He just became...good. Such a shame, the whole internal struggle thing could have been utilised far better had the Dragon been treated like a proper character. Instead he was just a power source and walking plot device (and a sword axe apparently)

I kind of think that the Dragon has changed, he was killed by Legion but revived by Haruto's heart.Can that change him in some way? And Haruto's evolution into Infinity is not something the White Wizard expected. The White Wizard has been manipulating Haruto's growth from behind the scene until he gets All Dragon which I think how the Dragon Phantom will look like if Haruto's fall into despair during the eclipse. Infinity is a joker in his plans whatever that is....

So was I the only one who thought Dragon was just blind siding Legion and ended up getting killed cause you all keep saying he saved Beast but I saw it as taking an opening and fucking up.
