Kamen Rider Wizard EP 29 - "Evolving Beast"

I can't help but think that Beast Hyper would look a lot better if the blue parts of the suit had been a pure white colour. I know they wouldn't because they already have White Wizard, but the blue and gold just doesn't do it for me, and you barely notice the red details. Neat design, I just think it would look nicer in a different colour scheme.

OR just stick with the BLACK. I love the black-gold combo. Why change it? Also why go from sword and melee to whips and gun? What does a gun have to do with magic anyway? I wish they wouldn't take second Rider upgrades into a different direction like Meteor to Meteor Storm and Beast to Beast Hyper. How about going further in the direction of what is there already? i.e. Planet kicks for a Meteor upgrade or a Loaded Dice Saber or something for Hyper Beast?

I imagine Beast could still use the Dice Sabre. It just comes out his belt. I wonder how the animals rings work with it though.

That was my biggest problem with Meteor Storm. They took the near-flawless theme and design of the base form and turned it into what could pass for Kamen Rider Sonichu. The Meteor Shaft wasn't used in an impressive way compared to the base form's awesome martial arts, and the Meteor Storm Punisher needs no explanation. It got to the point where I was hoping that Ryusei wouldn't use the Storm switch because his base form was so much better. I know the merchandising is a big part of why these things happen, but they've definitely pulled it off in a cleaner fashion before. At least Hyper's gun is a more practical weapon than a Beyblade.

How is this show now that it's more than halfway finished? I stopped after the first episode because the magic theme is a hard sell to me, but I'm willing to give it another chance. I noticed that they've brought back out-of-suit fights a few times from clips, which is giving me a good reason to check this series out again.

I feel it's been on my point. Some hiccups here and there but I love the mystery plot and Haruto is a great rider. It's a better series to watch in chunks. So if you can enjoy the magic theme I feel it's pretty good.

What does an armored Japanese guy in a lion suit have to do with magic anyway?It's magic armor.Same thing with the Mirage Magnum and WizarSwordGun.They're magical guns.The question here is "What does hyper have to do with this?".Are they talking about the energetic colors...?It's definitely not speed, since if you look at the stats, he only runs 100 meters .1 faster, which isn't much of an increase.He also can't jump as high now.When Tendou became Hyper Kabuto, I guess it can be hypersonic, since he can now travel speeds that are faster than light speed, which are WAY faster than 5 times the speed of sound.The Hyper Ring doesn't make Kousuke extremely active either.

I'm really thinking about this more than I should and now just sound like a rambling idiot.

I actually like Beast Hyper, but my only complaints are that they debuted the episode right before

OK, RESPONSE!

1. I did like how he used it as a whip that one time. It reminded me of the bamboo whip/switch thing from Game of Death (pretty cool).

2. I didn't mind the Beyblade in principal, Meteor just doesn't match well with it as you explained about his theme, etc.

3. I like it over all [insert shameless plug for podcast talking about the second arc and Wizard overall] like Bleachjoj says, there have been hiccups, but last few arcs helped restore my confidence in it.

4. Well... You see.... OK. Fine. You got me there. UNLESS the stuff in the show is governed by in Universe logic and rules. Haruto who is a modern Wizard with arguably a modern powerset has a gun/sword. The White Wizard uses no weapons and has a more ethereal seeming powerset which makes him timeless and aloof. Beast IS ancient and it may be that his magical lion suit is a manifestation of Chimera’s power in the earthly plane. The suit calls out all 5 creatures comprising Chimera and the dice..... well that’s where it kind of falls apart. It would be nice to explore the ORIGINS of the belt. How did Chimera get sealed etc, etc.

5. I still contend that for some unknown to us reason Nitou is being treated shabbily most of the time.

I appreciate Accel Trial so much more now that he's the only Neo-Heisei secondary Rider who didn't get a **** upgrade.

I can see why they changed the colour. If they'd stuck with black it wouldn't seem like much of a difference. It would just look like the lion head had been moved from the shoulder to the chest. That wouldn't have much "wow" factor. I like the gold and black too, but if you have to change it I just wonder if there are better choices than blue.

Again, variety. If he just has the same weapons and attacks what would be the point in having a different form? This way he has more options in combat.
