Kamen Rider - Will it ever stop?

[noob=SageShinigami] What does everyone mean by long dramas? The show has always been long in terms of episode count, has it not? As far as drama goes...I've never really seen older Rider shows (nor have I seen J-Dramas, but that comes mainly from a lack of interest instead of a lack of money or a lack of ability), but what's the problem with dramatic moments and whatnot?[/noob]

Japanese "doramas", are usually 10-12 episodes long, they never last more than a season except for one samurai one that is like been running for 20 years. Anyways, since these only last about 3 months while Kamen Rider lasts a whole year. Even if you consider dorama episodes are 1 hr long(the main ones are, the others are 30mins) you can break it up to a total of 20-24 episodes if you slice them in half, it's still not the 48-50 episode number count rider shows usually have. Hence, longer.

And that's why I put it in the n00b tags.  Can anyone answer the other half?

Which is why I gave you a heads up on the topic.

Dramatic moments can be ok, but the whole angst, extremely skeletal characters, over-dramatized conflicts that take forever getting solved, over-dramatized conflicts that take forever and then repeat themselves, story that goes nowhere for a good portion of the series, etc. is annoying.

I highly doubt it'll stop anytime soon but I have a feeling I'll finally be able to grow out of watching toku in a couple of years.

Asked and answered. Thanks man. Honestly, I'm a KR n00b. I've only really heard good things about Agito and Faiz, and even though I'm pretty much totally into Kabuto, that's not really enough to know what everyone means when people say KR has lost a lot of its Toku roots.

Not to be all RSR-y ("We must stick to the topic or I report!!111" :P), but..... where'd that come from?

(And personally, even when I graduate college....once I finally go....I won't have "grown out of" watching Toku. I said I'd grow out of watching PR, but I never really did.  )

Okay, we all know that when Ishinomori was working on Kamen Rider, he took frequent breaks, which is why the show is five years older than Super Sentai but only has about half as many shows.

I didn't know that.

What's next--growing out of having fun? :anime:

Lol...Hmm...I'm postcollege. I guess I haven't grown outta having fun ... Yet.

But seriously, to keep to the topic, I don't think KR will stop as long as people are there to watch it. Personally? I have decided I stopped following franchise a long time ago. I follow certain elements, people. Etc. Call me insane or obsessed, but a show (like everything) is what you make of it.
