Kamen Rider - Will it ever stop?

Not to be all RSR-y ("We must stick to the topic or I report!!111" :P), but..... where'd that come from?

(And personally, even when I graduate college....once I finally go....I won't have "grown out of" watching Toku. I said I'd grow out of watching PR, but I never really did.  )

It came from my head? Kamen rider will most likely go on till I'm married and have kids, and though the show won't stop, it's viewer someday will. I grew out of PR too but I came across Lightspeed Rescue by accident and it pulled me back in. Shoot, I stopped watch kamen rider for a year because of Hibiki and I basically grew out of the whole kamen rider thing for a while. I didn't care or think about it at all when I was doing what I usually do. And if a crappy kamen rider season to me gets made on a yearly basis, I will eventually stop.

What's next--growing out of having fun?
That was the stupidest thing I have heard you say... :bawling:

If I'm not mistaken, Mikazuki is married and she still watches Toku. I don't think you can really get too old for something. Except maybe Barney and Sesame Street.

How is it stupid?

Man...Saban tarnished the frickin series as a whole. *shakes head*

KR is Japan's response to Spiderman and Batman...IMHO
It makes me laugh sometimes of what if Toei did Batman...it's possible it would be like another Spiderman toku. From the Bat Planet...comes Batman...and his trusty Bat Mecha...

However, as much as I like KR...I do want to see the Metal Hero series comeback; loved Blue SWAT, Winspector, and Solbrain. Either that or become a Toei Triple attack of Sentai, KR, and Metal Heroes like the 80s.

Spiderman is actually a good series. The only bad part is when all the robot fights go to stock footage, but that couldn't be helped since the robot suit was lost in a fire or something.

I wouldn't expect Kamen Rider to end, I wouldn't mind if it did though. I've lost nearly all interest in the franchise. And to think only a year ago I was all about Kamen Rider.

The series was decent...but every person I showed the series thought that it would be Peter Parker under the mask.

...yeah...and Battle Fever J is led by Steve Rogers.

Heck, the henshin itself scared many people.

Perhaps it's all the experimentation with different themes...I mean...musical instruments...

(I still prefer musical notes);)

I was searching on Wikipedia, and stumbled across this lil' tidbit:

It was recently announced that the current Kamen Rider series (Kamen Rider Kabuto) is the last KR series for a while as the genre steps aside and Toei focuses on a new Metal Heroes show.

Is this true, or a problem of the imdb kind.

Actually, it was (supposedly) stolen by a fan. And the story goes that they ran out of money for special effects in episode five.

(I can't say much about the series, as I've only seen two episodes, and parody fansubs at that, but still... Spiderman? Giant robot? Bwah?)

Anyway, one need not outgrow what one enjoys. I'm 30 years old, married (no kids, probably not for several years yet), and I still dig toku and anime and all kinds of other "kids" stuff, because it's a hell of a lot less banal than entertainment aimed at adults. Gods know I have a lot more fun watching toku or the BTAS-universe cartoons or Doctor Who than I do just about any random dorama or, gods help me, reality TV. (In fact, the only dorama I really liked was Densha Otoko, because I could relate, to some degree, to the main character, only I'm no longer useless around women.)

I got shot down using Wiki for info twice (both times on this board), so I don't trust it for info no one knows yet.

Uhm??

BTW, can I say that I hated Densha without people trying to kill me here?
