Did you ever watch V3? The Shonen Riders were always put in harms way, even in the original Kamen Rider. Since they were on the lookout for Shocker, Gel-Shocker, & Destron activity. Not to mention that they're always used a bait to lure the Double Riders & V3 into traps.

V3 originally wanted revenge on Destron for murdering his family, then it turn into a need to protect people from them. Since Shiro didn't want anyone to go through the same hell as he did.

but they've decided on Den-O as the 40th Anniversary Rider (****) so all I can hope for is that they keep the "established Rider multi-verse" that the Decade series created for the Rider franchise.

I understand the Den-O hate, but don't get ahead of yourself, Den-O is not the 40th Anniversary Rider.
I know your reasons to say that, but his name isn't the only one in the title.

Basically, he's been pushed down our throats, and seems to steal the spotlight, specially in this case, while I personally don't hate Den-O, I understand why some people would.
