I think summonride is not "better" persay as it's more fun. To me the parts of BW where you have to fight a swarm of enemies until that red health bar thing runs out can really bog down the flow of play. I always ended up spamming some big attack that would clear out a bunch of guys at once just to move on.
i thought these kind of stuffs also happens in summonride? instead of the red health bar you need to defeat all of the enemy in the barrier/room thingie
Since you don't get much/any exp based on kills but combo counts in BW, it makes fighting anything but bosses feel more like an obstacle to deal with than a chance to do bad ass stuff with your Rider.
err, you can't get many combo counts by facing bosses alone, in fact the swarm of enemies are where your combos will come from, so your reasoning here is a bit weird
and you always have a chance to do bad ass stuff against them, unless i'm missing something really obvious in Summon Ride, i've seen the gameplay and there's nothing bad ass about the playable characters there, they look the pretty much the same, sans many moves that BW2 had(cancels, jump, bikes, super attacks/forms WITHOUT the need of paying money) and is now viewed from way above
In summonride you earn some type of exp for every enemy killed, and all the fights are a lot more intense because even the generic kaijin can kill you if you aren't careful. That coupled with the combo system like dynasty warriors allows for a lot more variety when attacking instead of just doing the same move over and over.
did you play all of Battride War(2)? in stages like Final Survival, even one grunt can easily kill you, damage wise, it's a game of skill where exp matter little because you are locked at level 1 anyways
and you're clearly mistaken about the "Dynasty Warrior Variety", if you visit their boards, you will see that the charge attack system have one big problem, to reach the attack that you want you must do a series of attacks you DON'T want, and sometimes you die before you reach said attack in the higher difficulties just because it's too damn llong to access said attack, DW players would kill for the convenience that BW and Sengoku Basara had by giving you direct access to special attacks, without the normal attack nonsense
they do respect the traditional DW gameplay and gave that exact gameplay for BW Fourze and Kiwami though, it makes them unique in BW, but at the same time makes the game diverse since only they operate like that
Overall, I'd say the BW series is better for capturing the feel of fighting as a Rider, the form changes and sound effects and music and special moves are all incredibly well done, but Summonride is just more fun to play.
i see, i guess for grinders and stat/RPG lovers this game has appeal, but for pure action fans then this game has very little value aside from playing as Drive early(and incomplete) and fighting enemies that are not just recycled from BW
Also just a quick note, a couple of new enemies I've encountered: Zeronos in Zero form, Zolda, Ibuki, Decade violent emotions, Ixa, Eternal, Powerdizer (I hate fighting him, He's super strong), Delta, and Kamen Rider Scorcerer
cool, thanks for the info, there's a lot of riders there, and power dizer is great i guess, hopefully all of these gets carried to BW3, and not just as enemies, but playable too
I have seen gameplay and it looks someone is doing the same combo over and over again? do combos become unlocked as one levels up? Is this game really easy?
the game seems to be grind heavy and very stat based since it used the RPG numeric system, i don't think move variations matter much when your character can theoretically deal 9999 damage per hit with any attack later on if you buy enough duplicate figure and had a high character level(adding a duplicate figure doubles your level/stats it seems, so having 4 of the same figure will have your base level multiplied by...3~4?).
