I don't know what you're watching... You can clearly see the cell medals as well as some of Mezool's core medals coming out...

It's not just the cell medals that affected Mezool... Remember that she absorbed Gamel which made her unstable. After which, Dr. Maki fed the hybrid more cell medals as well as two of Uva's core medals.
