Kamen Rider OOO - Talk Up!

Decade's Kuuga and the original Kuuga have basically nothing to do with each other. Their powers seem only broadly similar-- Onodera never demonstrates things like super-senses in the Air form or super-speed in the Blue form-- and it's totally unbelievable to me that DCD Ultimate Kuuga is as powerful as the original Ultimate Kuuga.

I think that's why people hate Akiko. She was TOO good at her job. It's like every time she's on screen it's to make Shotaro look like an ass. Yeah it's fun to make the main character look stupid sometimes but when it's the same person causing it over and over again WITH THE SAME FUCKING SHOE! It gets annoying.

It's better than having her just stand there looking cute and being the hero's cheerleader

Sounds to me that Hina might become a very vital character later on if that's Kobayoshi's intention.

I can't help wondering if she's going to have something going plot-wise with Ankh? The opening seems to hint that she'll get more involved in his story, beyond "oh no this terrible monster has possessed my brother"

I hope she gets to transform. I don't see how she'll contribute to the plot otherwise. OOO doesn't have anything like W's detective framing device, which was good for letting non-combatant characters do important things.

I don't see how any total non-combatant besides maybe Cake Boss is going to do anything important in OOO. The plot is so caught up in the fight over the medals that I think characters without a direct stake in that are going to end up completely sidelined.

Decade's Kuuga and the original Kuuga have basically nothing to do with each other.

His initial development was obviously meant to make him closer to the original Kuuga. He goes from "You fight for the smile of a girl? Your story is boring." to "If I protect everyone's smiles... I'll be much stronger!" and generally followed that afterwards.

He ends up pretty much like a more immature Godai, trying to befriend and help the Riders of the various worlds, although he still had some extra failings. That role was especially important in the Kiva, Ryuuki and Blade Worlds.

Their powers seem only broadly similar-- Onodera never demonstrates things like super-senses in the Air form or super-speed in the Blue form--

Decade-Kuuga showed the super senses of the Pegasus form in the Kabuto world, but, more importantly, Onodera himself used the increased defense of the Titan form to completely nullify the attack of a Mantis Lord in the Amazon World.

and it's totally unbelievable to me that DCD Ultimate Kuuga is as powerful as the original Ultimate Kuuga.

And I really can't understand this position. Its true that DCD Ultimate Kuuga's replaced the spontaneous combustion with spontaneous... floating...? But, aside from that, the battles of both Kuugas had a similar style, just a pure physical beat down.

It's not like the original Ultimate Kuuga showed some over the top special effects to show his power. His power was just implied by the story and listed in statics from outside the show. Kuuga's battle against Decade in Natsumi's dream is pretty much the only example of a "flashy" Ultimate Kuuga.

I can't help wondering if she's going to have something going plot-wise with Ankh? The opening seems to hint that she'll get more involved in his story, beyond "oh no this terrible monster has possessed my brother"

I'll be surprised if she becomes relevant. Back in Den-O, Hana had every reason to become relevant actively, rather than just as support, considering her status as a singularity point, but, even before her original actress left, that didn't happen.

Hina won't become a Rider in the tv show and I can't see her having a connection to the plot bigger than the one she currently has. Even if they reveal that her super strength is due to a medal in her body, that would just lead to a story about a Yummy possessing her, not her using it to help OOO.

She might end up having a more active role helping Eiji, like possibly arranging a fake marriage with him in Movie Wars Core to attract some enemy, but it's still just a supporting role... And Movie Wars Core isn't even written by Kobayashi, something that throws into question the idea of her becoming more relevant in the tv show. Unless she is actually going to marry Eiji for real, and I have no idea about how they'd handle that development in the tv series.

That's true. It's really messed up to have that kind of character but that doesn't mean you have to make a over the top character who goes around smacking the male characters and acting superior. Just make a regular well develop character......who has a vagina.

I don't know what it is but every time I consider Hina becoming a rider, I always think she is going to go the way of Tackle. Extremely important plot and battlewise but dying in only a few episodes.

Then Mezuru can posses her!
I picture her suit acting as Den-O Plate form but with a chest.

@NeonZ and HiddenMasta... So, who's fault is it that Kuuga wasn't written as he should have been???? All I'm saying is that DCD as a series did have a whole lot of flaws which is why we should not be using that series as a way to compare CoolGuy Kuuga with DCD Kuuga...
Don't know how I missed this post sorry. >.<

Yes Decade as a whole was a failure and one of the reasons I hate DCD Kuuga is because he doesn't compare to Kuuga Classic but for me DCD Kuuga as a Rider just sucked. There was so many times when he just stood there and watch Decade fight when he could of been helping and times when he did help but lost. Example when he tried to save Hibiki from one random Makamou and ended up having Hibiki save him! I know he's not suppose to steal the spot light from Decade but it's like they treated him as the bumbling sidekick more then a secondary Rider to the series and any Kuuga from any world shouldn't have to take that ****.

Remember, a character is only useful insomuch as he or she is attractive to you personally.

:(

That kinda was the problem. He shouldn't of been there but since he was that doesn't mean they should do a bad job at writing for an awesome Rider. Really there's no way both ego's should of been on screen with out overshadowing another. Let's be thankful it was Kuuga and not Kabuto.

As for character development. She went from annoying girl to annoying girl who might become a decent detective someday if a dopant doesn't kill cause she hangs out with to many Kamen Riders and is married.

Akiko brought back the characters on track when they were forgetting their reasons for fighting. She didn't make them look like asses. She just made them realize how irrational they were sometimes.

It's funny how most wave around the "character development" card without knowing what it is. Akiko didn't develop much at all. Towards the end, she was more understanding, but she was still the same Akiko from the beginning of the series.

Back to OOO, anyone? No?
