I still do not want Gotou to be the secondary Rider. It would be incredibly dull and predictable which, as this is Kobayashi, means she's almost certainly going to do it. He fits the stereotype of arrogant/antagonistic second Rider to a T - can't we have a change just for ONE bloody year?

Characters need easily distinguishable personalities these days, so another person similar to the main character is out. Gotou is "colder" than Eiji, like most secondary Riders, but that doesn't mean he's antagonist or arrogant just yet. Even if he doesn't turn out to be the secondary Rider, somehow, the secondary likely will be colder than Eiji too. It's just a way to easily distinguish the main Rider from the secondary one.

The secondary Rider would just need too much screentime to establish himself if he isn't clearly different from the primary one. Even if he's clearly different, something like being even more of an underdog somehow would just make him need too much screentime to establish him adequately. In a series like Double, and probably OOO too, it's pretty clear that the secondary isn't very important, so he won't have that much focus. Making him clearly different from the primary one is just more efficient.

They could go with a "veteran" take on the idea, but that's limited by the setting in OOO's case and also actor ages.

Well, Gatakiriba does kick ass. That much is true.

However, for all the fuss Ankh makes about the Iphone, there's something missing. He tracked Kazari through camera phone pictures, and yet no such pictures of OOO have surfaced.
The second fat cat attack happened right across the street from where the Glutton gorged himself. That restaurant was full of people taking picture of the guy on way to detonation, and yet none of them took pictures of the fight?

And then, a massive swarm of pirahna monsters is met by a massive swarm of Gatakiriba clones, and the only after-effect is that Eiji passes out? Somebody had to have seen it.

It could just be laziness, or it could be something more sinister... Kougami is covering it up, and having Gotou squelch all mentions of the monster fights on line.

Speaking of Gotou, isn't it odd that we haven't seen any more of the RideVendor platoons that the Kougami Foundation deployed in the first episode? We've only seen Gotou in more than that episode, so I can't help but wonder where the rest of the Foundations forces are.

...well, those guys in ep 1 all got slaughtered, so I suppose there are none left? :laugh:

I think W did a pretty good job with Terui's character, but he got a lot of his development later on in the series. When he first showed up he was pretty stereotypical too I suppose

Kabuto was the reverse of the norm with a jerky main Rider and a more normal second but they were more like an exception. Decade too, because Decade was just as much of a jerk as DiEnd but in a different way ...
