Really, people often act like the Shocker Riders were grunts, but that's not really true at all. Both Shocker Rider One and Shocker Rider Two beat Kamen Rider Ichigo with help of a kaijin. They also had extra abilities compared to Rider 1 and 2 (finger missile launchers).
Later there were 6 of them at once, and they still lost thanks to Rider 1 and 2's training, but they're nothing like the RioTroopers. They were technically superior versions of Rider 1 and 2, not inferior ones.
Anyway, this series has potential for multiple Riders due to the number of medals around. Unless there's no final form, I could see the greeds all getting beaten around the halfway point and the enemies becoming humans using medals (although not necessarily as Riders. Maybe Dopant like monsters?). The Greeds will have to be weakened or killed in order to let OOO get more forms, after all. And the protagonist just getting stronger while the antagonists get weaker wouldn't work very well.

So I watched the first 3 episodes earlier and I have to say, I was impressed with the show. While I think the concept is absolutely atrocious, the characters and pacing kept me engaged. In fact, this is the first series since Kiva to keep me this engaged after episode 2, as I was not even this impressed with W's first two episodes (which I plan to watch in full in Nov). I really like Ankh and his possession of the detective along with the Greeed. On the other hand, like I said, the concept is beyond rediculous and stupid, but if they can keep the story this interesting, I might actually watch the thing as it airs over the year instead of waiting for it to end. Another thing I found to be cool was how the MotDs emerged from humans (mummies crawling out of them). I'm not fond of the rider design though, but it does have some unique things going on with it, so we'll see how things go.
Oh, there is one thing I am curious about though, do you think the entire series going to be agasint the Greeed? I'm hoping they actually have all 7 sins appear as villians, as that would make it really interesting.

Well I watched them right after the horror that was the Decade finale, which kind of ruined Kamen Rider for me over the last year.

God, that would be horrible. OOOs is clearly based on Buddhist ideas, a sudden parade of Christian ideas like Pride and Sloth that made no sense in light of the basic concept would be pretty bad. It would take the one really interesting thing OOOs has going for it ("let's base a Rider on Buddhist cosmology!") and flush it right down the toilet.
(Before you wonder what the Greeds have to do with Buddhist cosmology, I'm pretty sure they're supposed to represent how Buddhist demons tend to represent the degrees to which various desires debase and abuse humans. The use of medals is an oblique way of using coins to symbolize the physical form of greed.)
