The tah from cheetah is a long sound while the ta from tako is a short sound. It's pretty easy to me.

They sound the same and you know it!

Also, if it had an "r" wouldn't it be pronounced "La-Toraru-Taru" in Japanese?

Many think Ratorahtah is Latorartar because Using Cheetah makes the syllable before and after the "ta" sound lengthened and R and L are interchangable.

Rai-on/Tora/Chi-ta- Combo should be Ratorātā Combo.

Using an R is a pretty common way to represent the ー, it's just awkward to us in this case because we know the word is 'Cheetah'.

Well for Toei the official names for Cheetah are 'Tar' in 'LaTorarTar' (NOT LaToraTar, spot the difference), and 'Ta' in mixed forms, also the name for grey Combo is 'SaGohZo' instead of 'SaGoZo', these names are used in the URL of official website as well. I was wondering how they would distinguish the two.
