Kamen Rider Kuuga General Discussion Thread

Has that ever been proven? I remember they talked about the Lord-Grongi connection in Decade...but that's all I can recall of..

So I've got a question about Gouram. They said in the final episode that if Kuuga became too powerful, Gouram would turn to sand, but what would that do to Kuuga? He would lose the armor for his 'mount' but it seems like he would be perfectly capable of destroying things with or with out Gouram.

Agito spoilers.

[HIDE]Also, since its said that Gouram is a messenger of God, does that mean the Overlord was ok with a human evolving into Kuuga, even if it was just one of them? He was trying to get rid of the Agitos long before they could even transform, so why would he be ok with someone becoming Kuuga? Does that mean Agito could become more powerful than Kuuga, or did he just have a way to keep Kuuga under his thumb through Gouram?[/HIDE]

I think Kuuga itself was a product of mankind, not something that the OverLord did.

The Grongi tribe used the magic to infuse a stone into themselves to turn them into killing machines, so the Linto, in order to protect themselves, created the Amadam and chose one of their own to kill the Grongi tribe.

Wow, Gouram is the messanger of God? I knew he'd turn to sand in order to prevent Kuuga to attaining Ultimate power, but the herald of God? Neato.

I meant that the Overlord was ok with them doing that, rather than making it happen himself. Sorry for the poor wording.

And yeah, I remember in one of the first episodes Gouram was in, the translator lady whose name escapes me at the moment, translated the text on Gouram saying that he was a messenger of God, which stuck with me since I had seen Agito first. I was just wondering if his turning to sand would affect Kuuga in some way, like destroying the Arcle since they both had the same type of stone, I think. It just seemed odd to me that he would allow Kuuga to run around but not Agito.

Really, Kuuga and Agito should be looked at as their own things. Agito obviously started out intending to be more of a follow-up to Kuuga, but it was something that was dropped in order for Agito to be its own thing. (The connection to Kuuga in those early episodes is pretty minimal, only using Kuuga as a segue to the G3 storyline.) While it would have been cool to have both shows take place in the same world, like the Showa Riders, I think it's for the best they split them up. (Although I feel like some of the holes with the Mysterious Youth is a result of breaking away from Kuuga.)

IIRC, Agito's producer, Shinichiro Shirakura, said that making Agito a sequel was heavily debated amongst Toei's staff, with a lot of people feeling like it would undermine Kuuga as a series, and specifically what Godai had accomplished in the series. And that's kind of true. I'm a fan of the Enokida character, and she busts her ass to invent stuff for the police, but along comes young hotshot Ozawa and makes Enokida's work obsolete? But by Agito erasing all connections to Kuuga, Enokida is again triumphant!

Yeah, Sakurako found passages about a messenger of God, which Godai interpreted to be Gouram, IIRC.

^ Hell, she couldn't connect with her son due to her being too busy developing the tech they needed.

Oh, Shougo, so insightful as always.

I wasn't aware that making Agito a sequel of Kuuga was highly debated, it makes sense, Toei busts their ass to create a masterpiece of a Kamen Rider and show, only to have alot of their accomplishments (Godai mainly) thrown under the bus by Ozawa and the inclusion of the heavely powers.

What holes are you alluding to again Shougo? About the mysterious youth? I don't really remember the early parts of Agito..

Didn't Ozawa just create the suit? And its weapons were Enokida's designs just hooked up to G3? Its been awhile since I've seen Agito.

Well, in the end she only created the bullets. The nerve-breaking bullets that are probably only in the GM-01. Ozawa probably created everything else, from the G3-X suit, to the GuardChaser, to the goddamn G-Trailer.
