Kamen Rider Kuuga Fansub Project

OT, but Chronotia, is that green haired girl in your signature C2 from Code Geass?

One of the reasons why there is some point that I got bored with Kuuga is that the Grongi language is not translated. Subbing the Grongi language is a good thing especially for new fans.

I hadn't thought of that, but that's actually a very good point. It could make things actively confusing if you don't make it very clear that those guys are speaking an entirely different language in scenes where they're interacting with the main characters.

Maybe its because I've been watching fansubs for years, but I don't think Grongi sounds that much like Japanese.

Agreed. I love Kuuga, but whenever I saw villains gathered, I groaned. The HKsubs were awful enough, but to have full conversations in an alien language was like listening to paint dry. :P

Edit: Also. Great to hear someone's planning to finish Kuuga. Hopefully you can go back and finish the other 12 episodes as well, once you're done with the series? I'm glad you're picking up where they left off. To me it seems like so many series would be further along if it weren't for some people wanting to start an oft-attempted show from the beginning *every time*. Then they become disinterested and the fans are left with nothing new, just multiple versions of the same few episodes.

Nope! She's not. Actually she's Sanae Kochiya from Touhou, particularly Touhou: Mountain of Faith. She's the 2nd shrine maiden of the entire game. I haven't played Touhou: MoF yet but I just realize that she's actually my number 1 Touhou girl.

@ SageShinigami's

Yep! Same here. HK Subs really made me say "What the heck? Sentence errors and even spelling errors are seen". That is why I did my best searching for all of TV-Nihon/ Order of Zeronos/ MajinBror Rgreg subs for other series than to suffer the horror of that sub group.

Well... They can rip the HD ones that are found in Youtube and then sub
them later on. Just type these:
クウガEPISODE*insert episode here* or just search this guy from there, sutooru and ask his permission to do so.

Just a reminder... He or she only had up to ep 15 though.

Here's Toei Channel's listing for the Grongi subtitled airing of Kuuga: http://web.archive.org/web/20040313145759/www.toei.co.jp/cs/tv/04_01/20.html

They showed the whole series with the Grongi subbed in Japanese, but this was in 2004 before most American fans even cared enough about Kuuga to find downloads of this particular airing.

yes but these are all reruns. the original airing did not have the subs. if you notice the title includes "超古代語対訳版" which pretty much states that it's a version with the grongi translated. if it had it translated to begin with, the summary would not need to go out of its way to explain that it's a version that has the language subbed. it also points out a start date of 2004, which we all know was well after the original airdate... sooo u're proving my point even more? :3 i'm pretty sure i said that it was available in reruns... by which point the series had already ended at least once and everyone knew the "mysteries" already XD

I just have to say thanks to everybody posting links and stuff about the Grongi language, because I've been trying to actually write out some new lines of Grongi for a story and actually get it somewhat right. :)

np! but it's actually just linked to the jpn wiki for grongi-go. it's not uber hard to find ^^;;;

and if u're looking to do numbers... i suggest u use the wiki version. me and my friend were playing around with it last nite. i think the wiki version is more succinct and simple to understand :D

He's not disproving your point, he's just displaying the existence of the subtitled version is all.

haha which i've already said existed......AFTER the first airing had finished revealing all of its "mysteries" :3 i'm talking about the experience of watching it the FIRST time. not the bajillionth time ... which is what happens by the times these reruns air

i like how they kept putting "mystery" into quotes like that *rolls*

Damn, those subs are ugly. No offense ;P Especially that title sub in the middle of the screen is horrible. It all just intrudes on the video way too much. Good subs should basically make you forget they're there (that's why tvn's current subs suck). Having them huge like this with ugly color and font doesnt help at all. Subs shouldn't be the main focus of your vid.

You can hate me for this if you want, too much good work is wasted with bad typesetting/encoding already so had to say this ^^.

Also, starting it at ep 13 is very lame.

Yeah, starting at 13 is one thing I think the group is doing that's really admirable. At least if they stop after three episodes it'll be three episodes there aren't decent subs of yet, you know?
