After a recap of the battle from #4, we find out that the person following Tendo is Misaki, but she soon runs into another ZECT member known as Higashi (Ogawa's character), who wants her help in a plot to trap Kabuto hatched by HQ.
After another innocent victim is killed by a Worm, which evolves into Epilachnaworm, the Zectroopers arrive under direction of Tadokoro and begin blasting away, trying to stop the Kaijin before it gets Clocked Up. Another van pulls in the way of their fire though, and to everyone's amazement Misaki (with Higashi riding along) tells them that they have to focus their attention elsewhere: on the capture of Kabuto.
Tendo's cleaning the Kabuto Extender, and gets a visit from Hiyori. Meanwhile, Kagami's dad visits him, and is upset that he's been wasting his time freewheeling around and working at some goofy bistro. This leads to an argument where Kagami counters that his father did nothing when Ryou vanished.
Hiyori went to Tendo's place to cook one of his sister's favorite meals, and for him to observe her culinary skills. Tendo's sister Juka sees her sketchbook and begins asking about the meteorite incident. We get a flashback that shows what happened at the moment of impact and for some time after that, but we don't see how exactly Hiyori is saved.
Under orders from Higashi (who in turn is following orders from an even higher source) ZECT is allowing people to be attacked and killed by the Worm in an attempt to lure out Kabuto. Misaki is very displeased by this course of action.
Kagami & Hiyori's boss at the Bistro (Takemiya) gives him tickets to a flower show, intending for him to also take Hiyori. Of course she brushes him off.
Kagami soon has bigger things to worry about when he find out what ZECT has been up to, and he tries to confront Tadokoro about it. The other man once again states that they have to follow orders from HQ.
Tendo & Hiyori have another conversation, and he manages to convince Hiyori to go to the flower show with him (he just kind of "borrowed" the tickets it seems.) She says that she dislikes large crowds, but he says something to the effect of "It's okay. I'll be with you" and this is enough to convince her.
Kagami is trailing Epilachnaworm, but runs into Misaki & Higashi, who he doesn't recognize. They stop him of course, because they want Kabuto to come out.
Kagami informs Tendo of ZECT's unwillingness to stop the Worm, and Tendo, sensing a trap, decides to lay low for now. Kagami however is fed up with all this inaction and goes to fight Epilachnaworm himself. Bad idea! Thankfully, before Kagami can be squashed, Tendo has a change of heart and comes to the rescue, transforming on the way. Motorcycle transformations = always a good thing. With Kabuto now out and about, Higashi's interest is piqued, and ZECT monitors the fight.
Kabuto Masked Form beats the stuffing out of Epilachnaworm, but when he's knocked off a building, he Clocks Up and continues the battle in that form. Eventually there's the Rider Kick, you know how that works.
After reverting to normal though, Tendo soon finds himself surrounded by Zectroopers. Kagami also shows up, but can't do anything.
During all this, Hiyori has been waiting for Tendo, and growing increasingly uncomfortable at the fact that he isn't coming. So much, in fact (and probably as a result of the crowds) that she begins to blank out...

I've already seen the first toys for Zabii coming out (Handy Rider Zabii Zecter) so he should be coming up soon. Next episode, in fact.

I felt really sorry for Hiyori, she seems to constantly be getting screwed by this conflict all her life. And then ZECT stops Tendou from meeting up with her. That's the last thing she needed. The fight was really cool (the highlights being the car slicing and the stylish finish). What really excited me about episode 5 was its preview of episode 6. Kagami in ZECT Trooper gear! Tendou kicking ass while handcuffed! ZABEE shows up! Do I really have to wait another week for this?!
