Kamen Rider Generations

And I thought all ur posts were typos until now I think you just can't spell. Hey, what the hell? Since when did this thread get put up? The first post of this thread is a reply to another thread. But anyhoo, I'm not gonna check out the first generation KR's this month. What are Shin, ZO and J like? Shin looks awesome. He's not a Rider and he has a painful, hideous transformation. Yeah baby!
Haven't seen Shin and J, but ZO rocks, he's one of my fave riders, he should've had a series of his own.

Shin is SO underrated...I'm definitely surprised his little movie hasn't caught on with fans after the new Gen shows, because I always thought that without Shin, the new Rider shows wouldn't be (or wouldn't be as successful, even) in the style they are in.

But, even the new Gen shows are for kids. Shin Kamen Rider is the only (legitimate, non-porn) tokusatsu that is 100% for adults -- from its horror atmosphere to overdose on over-the-top violence (cartoonish "Ichi the Killer" style blood sprays), and serious (if bumpy and convoluted) storyline. It was also notorious for a while for having a scene featuring nakedity among the main character and his girlfriend (back and side nudity) -- supposedly a full on sex scene was filmed and cut from the movie.

Shin Kamen Rider was a special direct to video movie filmed for Rider's 20th anniversary -- so it keeps what the essence of a Rider is supposed to be and takes it up a notch for the adult fans.

ZO & J -- they're more style over substance. Nothing noteworthy in acting or writing, but they've got nice designs, and it's a slick looking movie. ZO's basically a watered down version of older Riders, so I'd recommend that over the boring, boring J (unless you're a fan of Geki/Tyranno Ranger, who plays J's alter-ego, don't bother with J). ZO & J were directed by the dude who did the Zeiram movies, "Future Ninja/Cyber Ninja," "Hakaider" and "Moon Over Tao." They pretty much play out in the same way if you've seen those.

I only own ZO of the 3 '90s Rider Movies. I've been meaning to catch the other ones. I'm interested to see Tyrannoranger Geki as a Masked Rider.
