Kamen Rider Generations

I know what you guys mean. Like Shadowrider said, it can be broken down even further, sometimes to ridiculous proportions. Like some would say 1~ZX are the classics, the Hirayama-produced shows. Other would say Kuuga & Agito are in a different group than the Ryuki & post-Ryuki shows. And let's not forget the really loopy people who want to pretend Ryuki (and for some, Faiz, Blade, or both) don't exist.

If I had to make some kind of distinction, I'd do what the Japanese do and go with "Showa" and "Heisei". But how many people actually know what that means, right?

So I dunno, I guess you have to just go with what you want, but it would be pretty weird if 30 years from now, people are still calling the shows starting with Kuuga "New Gen".

One other thing, I'm an advocate of shoving the "Old Gen/New Gen" thing and just calling it all "Kamen Rider", because one day Kuuga~Hibiki won't be "new" anymore, but they'll always be Kamen Rider. :buttrock:

Very true man.

I still consider RX as part of Ichigo's group because RX teams up with all the other riders so he is kind of accepted as their equal. Granted there were gaps between most of the series. I think the breakdown should be more with 70s-80s TV riders, 90s movie riders, then 2000+ Riders.(ZX is a TV rider cause Specials are usually aired on TV) As much as I'd like to keep all the riders together there are those people who think most riders before 2000 are too "campy". I accept all riders as equals. I have no qualms with any of the riders as long as they stand for what Ishinomori Shotarou wanted them to stand for, being a heroic icon to impressionable children. Other people watch toku for other reasons, which might make them difficult to adapt to the differences.

What stinks though for me is that they ditched the whole "scarf" thing. I dunno. I guess it's just me.

While I have to say I love the scarf... I'm glad they left them in the past.

Gotta change the fashion with the times, otherwise we'd still have spaceships shaped like fountain pens. ;)

Classic Kamen Riders are the guys and heros we look up to... the New Generation Riders are guys we could be.

bloody hell...what a statement... , yup, can't agree more...it definitely is... :198:

And I thought all ur posts were typos until now I think you just can't spell. Hey, what the hell? Since when did this thread get put up? The first post of this thread is a reply to another thread. But anyhoo, I'm not gonna check out the first generation KR's this month. What are Shin, ZO and J like? Shin looks awesome. He's not a Rider and he has a painful, hideous transformation. Yeah baby!
