^ Well, going on about Tomoko's "fat mother" (does it REALLY matter whether a character who gets two minutes of screen time is fat) who "lets" her wear goth makeup. Most parents ignore teenage phases as long as the kid isn't doing drugs or something. Either way, it is completely unimportant to the show.

Like my "traveling carnival" phase. My parents let me go through that and I came out completely well adjusted.

But then Erin's family name is Japanese ... maybe she took her mother's name?

I want that astronaut lady to be evil. She seems so nice.

She seems a little closer to the dark side to me than not, if you'd remember she laughs at the turmoil that she and her colleagues intentionally foist upon the unsuspecting students. It's one thing to delight in seeing students overcome adversity, its another to enjoy watching them squirm. I am also pretty sure that she hid the camera parts because she leans over to one of her colleagues during B team's presentation and remarks more or less that, "She [Yuki] changed the premise of the robot in order to compensate for the missing camera parts." Yuki could have been given instructions to hid the parts, because the nature of these trials is not head on, they are looking for adaptability and ingenuity, it reminds me of how in MIB the J character partly passes the tests because he pulls that table over to himself instead of trying to do it the hard way. The Space program needs people who can think on their feet and deal with Murphy's Law, it needs people like Yuki, if she can chillax.
