Kamen Rider Fourze Discussion Thread 2.0

I liked the focus on Fourze on this episode (despite the fact he was barely in it). Seems ever since Meteor was introduced, he's really been the kickass hero, but Cosmic States was pretty darn cool, it almost makes up for what a complete let down Storm was. It was a really well done episode.

Fourze 32:

- I don't think revealing Yamada's ironic fate really goes well with the "happy guitar tune" playing in the background.

This I agree with. Even if he was a bad guy, that seems like a strange thing to celebrate, especially considering how quick they were to forgive a murderer (even if the victim came back to life).

Another awesome episode of Fourze!

- Cosmic States finally debuts and it is AWESOME!!! It definitely proves itself as an Ultimate Form, and more than makes up for Magnet States' okay debut. Seeing Fourze completely own Aries with switch combinations was a delight to watch, and his finisher is pretty awesome too. Still, I hope he has a Rider Kick finisher as well. I kinda wish Aries was made out to be more of a threat but even so he's still a Horoscope and Fourze beat the living tar out of him in no time flat. I think the rest of the episodes are just going to serve to show off Cosmic States using all 40 Switches and defeating the rest of the Horoscopes. I loved Cosmic Mind too, can't wait to hear more of it!

- On Ryusei being forgiven... I'm not too torn up by it. Considering his breakdown after finding out he killed Gentaro for nothing and his later suicidal attack on Aries and the Dustards, I think he did redeem himself. And even though he lost the fight with Meteor, Gentaro ultimately did win in that he was finally able to make Ryusei his friend, someone who started out hating his guts and would constantly ridicule him about his ideals on friendship. Now, we finally have our double Riders!

- I think this episode established why only Gentaro can achieve Fourze's true power, with the words of Kengo's father stating that to seize the universe and defy the impossible one must have friendship. Gentaro's belief in his friends and desire to help them whenever, and his belief in making friends with anyone even those who turn him away, have given him strength that can truly make the impossible possible.

- Aries' Supernova was the least impressive Supernova of all time. Not really complaining, but I guess he could've done more. Like at least try to ram Fourze or something. And it looks like Fourze is finally starting to become a true threat to Gamou's plans, and even Virgo notes he's close to her in power and probably not that far off from Leo. As for Hayami, well, he's getting more whiny as more Horoscopes start showing up. Well guess what Libra? You're up next for a Cosmic States beatdown :buttrock:

- There were some great character moments in this episode, from Shun charging forward to avenge Gentaro and fighting back against the Dustards, to JK manning up and ripping that scrip to pieces, Tomoko chewing out Ryusei, Ohsugi's own sadness at Gentaro's death, and Kengo refusing to let Gentaro die.

- Can't wait next week for the trip to Kyoto, some back story on Kengo's dad, and the true debut of the Leo Horoscope!

- Tachibana's attitude seems odd. He wanted Ryusei to infiltrate the Club whilst hiding his identity, and then gets upset over his betrayal? I'm not saying he should have supported Ryusei in this, but given the circumstances it's not really what you would expect from him. At the very least you'd think he would be indifferent.

Made perfect sense to me. It was pretty obvious during the Meteor Storm arc that Tachibana considered the Kamen Rider Club to be a valuable asset to the fight against the Zodiarts, and the fact that he's the one who gave Kengo the initial switch to enter the Rabbit Hatch means he's already made quite an investment in them. Combine those facts with Ryusei blatantly disregarding orders and siding with the enemy, proving himself to be a loose cannon, and it would have been out of character to be anything less than upset.

- Ryusei should have said "I'm not a Rider and I never was" to Tomoko, or something like that >>

No. I CANNOT agree with this. Despite his bemusement at her giving him the title so early on, he has been proudly declaring himself Kamen Rider Meteor ever since, and he's obviously very attached to the idea that he's fighting for justice, even if he doesn't agree with everybody's definition of the term. Hearing Tomoko, who he obviously cares a great deal for (romantically or otherwise), retract that title which she had originally bestowed on him and he had grown quite attached to probably stung him so hard that he couldn't possibly even imagine such a retort. Once again, it would feel REALLY out of character.

Aside from JK, I'm very impressed with Shun in this episode for not only made an attempt to try to avenge for Gentaro's death (dwarfed by Aries' sleep), but also for trying to protect Miu against the Dustards and suffered heavy damage for it, enough that he'd have to be helped by JK in the end. Also, it seemed to me that Miu had ran to him more than once this episode. I doubt they'll rekindle the whole Miu & Shun relationship thing again, but this is nice to see nevertheless.
