Since I don't always watch the subs, something I wondered: Is it clear that Jirou was really Ryusei's friend?

There was one episode with a flashback to when Jirou used the switch, Ryusei was bawling at his bedside in the hospital. Made me wonder if certain benefits weren't involved.

I'm not completely familiar with Kamen Rider but is it not possible for Gentarou to stay dead and for someone else to take over the role?

That would be a very ballsy move this late into the series.

I'm betting that the writer is just toying with the savvy viewer. Maybe do a little tongue and cheek to a certain other work the writer wrote.

I mean, those two kids joining the KRC might be building up to a pretty re-creatable moment. A moment where they say that even if Gentaro is dead and gone, he is still right there on their backs and in their hearts. That he will live on as a part of them as they take his mantle.

At this point people will begin to guess where I am getting at. :169:

Just finished watching episode 31, and although I know Ryusei did it to try to save his friend Jirou and all that, the fact that he'd rather make a deal with the devil instead of choosing the the way that Tachibana told him to save Jirou, and on top of that he'd actually go ahead and inflict that seemingly-mortal damage to Gentaro make him almost unforgivable. Since this is a Kamen Rider series, I'm sure they will find a way for him to be redeemed later on, but as of now Ryusei cast himself in an extremely unfavorable position and one that I'm not interested to defend.

Kudos to Tachibana for taking his Meteor rights away. I guess it was a good thing that his henshin ultimately owes it to the man who gave it to him in the first place, now that we see what kind of person Ryusei turned out to be.

Okay that was an incredible episode. Never expected THAT ending. Some fine acting by the cast as well. I am really curious to find out how Tomoko is going to react. I never expected them to go in that direction.

Can't wait till next week.

Like I said before, I won't be surprised if Ryuusei used some magical martial arts technique that only stops Gentaro's heart temporarily.

Good call, I think the smart money's on this. The heart-stopping punch is an old kung-fu movie cliche, and Ryusei is a character made up almost completely of old kung-fu movie cliches.

I hope that's what happened, not because Gentaro will be saved (which I'm sure everybody knows by now), but rather it will redeem Ryusei in the show, although not the choice he made to make a deal with Aries. I guess we'll see how it pans out.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention Runa Natsui, who played Kaoru Shiba in Shinkenger, made her second guest appearances in the series, where she played Mei Shirakawa and confessed as a girl who is working on becoming Ryusei's girlfriend. I wonder what Tomoko will think when she hears it?

Finally! Jirou gets to become a zodiarts fully to a horoscope! If I'm to guess.... he'll become... taurus or sagittarius.

The Hikari Secret Laughing Pressure Point is what Ryusei used.Gentaro's just really sensitive to excessive laughing.:laugh:

Wow, what an episode.

+ So, by tweaking and perfecting every Switch from #1 to #39, the final one materialises like that? I suppose that can be an adequate explanation for why they couldn't just whip out the strongest switch earlier on, so it's passable for me.

+ Ohsugi has already done something good for the KRC. Not a bad start at all.

+ Ahh, English teacher who isn't very good at it. I genuinely laughed at "mada fram grapes". :laugh:

+ So why didn't Mei just tell Ryusei up front to leave because the school has been turned into a theatrical fiefdom ruled by a maniacal ram that can put people to sleep, rather than tell it to him through a book? On a similar note, I do wonder what is exactly stopping the rest of the school from just uhh, showing up when they know that going to school would mean being put to sleep for slights.

+ Space club members annoyed at Yuki. Can't say I blame them, really.

+ Loving Aries's design. Less menacing than preceding Zodiarts? I disagree with that initial response when first images of him came up. I think he definitely suits the part with the menacing face, piercing, glowing blue eyes and the appropriate regal factor about him.

+ The dull colour filter they use for the outdoors fight is a nice touch (unless I was just imagining it). Add to the rain at the beginning for a slight bit of pathetic fallacy in terms of the mood of the school and you get a very dystopian vibe with the school.

+ Ohh, Hayami. One wonders how you managed to become the Principal when you have the authority of a freshman. :laugh:

+ Ohh, she's a PE teacher and not an English teacher. Figures.

Right, the climax of this episode:

Firstly, I definitely noticed a blast raining down on Meteor when he kicked Fourze, so what that has possibly done, I don't know yet. Secondly, it does look like he hesitated before the one-inch punch, so I do believe he switched intentions from outright killing to just temporary "killing". Thirdly, what an absolute douche. You would kill Gentarou just to stop him from taking Aries down? Good on Tachibana for what he did.

No, won't happen, and I can't imagine this ever happening anytime in the near future unless as mentioned already, they really want to risk doing this and probably alienate a lot of kids. Gentarou will probably only be "dead" for a half episode before he gets back on his feet again and go around befriending everyone again as usual. He's very likely to be the only Fourze on the show too.
