I
If anything I find it interesting that Dragon Knight retained a very common trope of Japanese superhero endings, the idealization of an ordinary life. It is usually presented as totally positive that eventually the hero puts down his burden and can live peacefully.
But, the bad part about it is that even if leaving the path of a hero for a peaceful existence, there is that chance that the "curse" is not over and follow until the very end.
Letting the Rider keep their powers (to an extent) leaves an opening ending...how will you live your life, will you just live it like nothing happened or make due with what experience is given to you.
I can see Ritchie being afraid of dying thus being scared of his deck, Grant and Trent implying they had a rush doing it (implying either they're going to do good or evil with it), motivate Chris to become a better soldier, Drew growing paranoid because he could make a mistake and cross the wrong person again, etc; anything to tell the audience that the Earth riders had no regrets and trying to make something of it regardless of the consequence, the whole "Your actions is what determines your future" type of thing.
...then again...anything that beats the "I'm a cook", "One Year Later", "Marriage", and "Mysterious Foe" ending.
...and Den-O ending fit perfect because that series won't end for awhile.
