This is something I shamelessly stole from this thread made by Ryoutarou...

Gingaman, a Sentai that was intended to return to Sentai roots with things such as the return of classic singers, traditionaly drawn bumper cards and other items did better than Megaranger, a Sentai intended to be a "next generation" of sorts with (at the time) having futuristic weapons and settings.

Of course, the current conversation hasn't compared Gingaman to Megaranger, so it's possible that neither of them did particularly well.

Interesting things I've found while searching for Kamen Rider Dragon Knight on Google:

-As to be expected, many copies of the Japanese Dragon Knight trailer have been popping up and being linked around the net. This one seems to have text added in (the poster's thoughts perhaps?), as well as, what would appear to be an attempt at subbing the theme song as it appears in the trailer. Can anyone make out or translate what appears in this video?


-Dragon Knight's Lead Writer, Nathan Long, voices his thoughts on the news of the Japanese Release


-And lastly, I keep seeing this kind of show description in recent news articles concerning Adness' deals with broadcasting Kamen Rider Dragon Knight internationally:

The 40x30-minute live-action series follows the adventures of a teenager who discovers a mysterious deck of Advent Cards that grant him the power to transform into an ancient armored warrior.

or

The show follows the adventures of teenager Kit Taylor, who discovers a mysterious deck of Advent Cards that grant him the power to transform into an ancient armoured warrior called a Kamen Rider.

Now, from what I can recall, this is alluding to the proposed story ideas that were being tossed around in the Casting Sides and the first Pilot (i.e. Xaviax is a "Renegade Warlord," "The Kamen Riders are an ancient order of Knights," "The Riders and their Advent Decks were sealed in a tomb, with Wing Knight, the Rider's commander, specially sealed so that if Xaviax were to return the Riders would be able to rise and fight once more..." and so on and so forth).

Only this is information from a very early part in the creation of the show, and the pilot was only shown once to gain media deals and attention at the New York Trade Show years ago. The backstory changed soon after getting funding and the filming of the show eventually got into full swing.

All this proto-story info was from 2006, and the filming of the show was in 2007.

Why are these articles (some even released today) using such dated information nearly 3 years after the fact? Either they aren't doing much research or these press releases really need updating before being sent around.

The Kamen Riders might be more "ancient" than we think, actually. Remember what Len said about the Riders basically being in hibernation until they're needed? And he seems pretty experienced in the matter, which makes me wonder how long in linear time he's been Wing Knight...
