Kamen Rider deserves to have a second chance to air in U.S.

I would like for it to have another chance. It just needs a few things:
[HIDE]
  1. more experienced writers like the ones suggested on a thread I posted
  2. better BGM
  3. better marketing
  4. better publicity
  5. better action directors who don't make things slo-mo too much
  6. better toys
[/HIDE]

All that aside, Iwant Steve Wang to still be involved in some way.

I agree with that. Steve Wang should stay involve with this show. I mean, he's a BIG fan of Kamen Rider for years.

I'd have to disagree with the writing, score, and the slow-motion, but yeah, it should have been more properly marketed, and of course, the toy department was lacking... severely.

But yeah, IF you ever want Kamen Rider to have a chance, you're going to have to sell it to some company that has disposable cash *coughdisneycoughcough*. Only then would it actually stand a chance against the fierce market. Though, they wouldn't do it right, but they'd at least do it. Adness and 4Kids were pinching pennies and pretty much everything was a sink-or-swim situation with them. The pressure is certainly higher for these kind of companies.

There will be another hope for Kamen Rider, but not anytime soon. And don't expect the next adaptation to be more successful either.

You so silly.
Granted, I haven't finished Dragon Knight yet, so maybe the opinion lacks something.
But I still must stress this out:
Say, they don't they decide to adapt a damn thing, and that's it for the henshin heroes in America, no more full suits, no more of the toku genre, only thing left is MMPR re-run. I know by a fact people would start demanding more of this back, and with Power Rangers having run for so long and still re-airing the original, Kamen Rider should be the one to step in, unless they take a leap of faith and touch Ultraman.
Tell me I'm wrong, tell me the general audience doesn't prefer this, but, if all of sudden Superman banished from existence for years, people would riot for his return. Now tell me people in full body armors/suits are less appealing than the man of steel... yes, they are, but right now, think of Power Rangers and Kamen Rider in America without thinking of the original shows, it does seem unique doesn't it?

The ratings MrMonk cited are from the long break.

Was there no airing break for Dragon Knight?

EDIT:

Actually, am I missing something?

Dragon Knight shows a break between April 11th and August 1st. 112 days, or 3 months and 21 days.

RPM's air dates remain remarkably consistent, missing only a single month (Nov, Oct 3rd to Dec 19th). 77 days, or 2 months and 16 days.

So Dragon Knight, with a larger break in air dates, still retained its audience and improved their ratings slightly, while RPM lost theirs. And note, RPM dropped below Dragon Knight in September, prior to the break.

I've only seen the first episodes of both shows, so I cannot comment on the quality, but from a ratings perspective, Dragon Knight was more successful than RPM.

You know, I really wish this had a run on Adult Swim five days a week... I think it'd do awesome there.

Adult Swim....They can't even air anime correctly. They are losing rights to most of their Saturday Night Anime Block.

I would stick to Nick or CN.

Guys, I have a question, people are saying it was cancelled for a few weeks. But last week I saw Dragon Knight on TV, and it said it was "New", so was it the last ep that was supposed to air on TV or something?

The only Rider series that would fit in those channels is Den-O...and maybe Saban's Masked Rider.

Honestly, the only channel I see anything Kamen Rider fitting in is Fox Kids...yes Masked Rider originated there, but that was probably the only station that said FU FCC. We need no stinking E! rating (...okay, Bobby's World and Life With Louie being the closest).

The one you saw was Episode 38 and that was the last time Dragon Knight aired on TV. The last two episodes are streamed online.
