Kamen Rider 555 - Thoughts and Opinions

Yeah, where the hell did that come from?

21 episodes in now (wow, I'm getting better at this), and it seems that the dynamic of Takumi and Kiba constantly interacting in civilian life but being enemies otherwise due to a huge misunderstanding is getting a little monotonous now. It was cool at first, but now it's just the same thing over and over.

Oh hey! Rider Chips! The original version of The People With No Name is ok until you get to the rapping. That part flat out sucks. Irredeemably so. I'm glad the redone version removes it.

The whole thing of the four supporting characters from both sides getting the flu or whatever perplexes me. If Yurika, a super powered monster, was the first to catch the disease and she accidentally passes it to everyone else, I was really thinking this would lead up to something serious. It's something strong enough to affect a super powered monster! How is it anything normal humans can withstand?

But it's nothing special. It was just a set up to force Kiba and Takumi into the same store again so they'd be friends, then unknowingly go at each other's throats. Everyone gets better overnight.

Am I the only one to think this? I can't be. When Yurika was coughing like that it looked like something big was gonna happen, then Kaidou catches it, THEN MARI, THEN KIKUCHI!

And speaking of Kiba, what was the deal of introducing his ex-fiance's brother who's desperately searching for his sister's murderer, making Kiba go through a serious guilt trip again over the stuff he did once he became an orphenoc, and then immediately having him become a monster so that they kill him off? What was the point of that? Seeing the stuff they did with Kaidou that was a pleasant surprise, I thought this guy would get the same treatment, seeing how he clearly would have had a big impact on Kiba's story. But nope!

This will probably be answered soon, but WHY IS THE WHIP DUDE FROM LUCKY CLOVER STILL ALIVE? Again, I'm probably getting ahead of myself and the writers have a reveal planned, but what the hell happened? Either he has multiple lives like Mr. J did or he just handed back the belt to Kusaka! I don't know, they never showed the fight.

EDiT: Yeah, nevermind. Kusaka ends up joining them later (no surprise), but beforehand there was nothing between them.

So I guess they just fought, he got the belt back, the whip guy ran away to regroup (which he does a good amount of times). I never thought I'd ever see a villain crying over losing a fight. I guess he can't take the pressure they're all under (win or the boss kills you). Funny how he liked to talk a big game.

EDIT: Oh wow. Kusaka really needs to see a psychologist. I know you guys said he had mommy issues, but god damn. I never expected to hear that. Yeah, he's an asshole, but I never expected him to be that messed up.

Yeah and yet... He gives Faiz a power up out of the kindness of his heart.

Where was that said?

[hide]When Kaixa gave Takumi the belt, the dialogue went:

Tak: "You!"
Kai: "How Pathetic."
Kai: "I guess that's just like you."
Kai: "It's not like I'm saving you. It's more convenient for now that you have the belt."
Tak: "Whatever. I'm grateful anyway."

*Kaixa tosses the watch to Faiz*

Kai: "Use that."

*Faiz goes Axel mode, Kaixa leaves*

Episode 22:

Kusa: "Hey."
Kusa: "You being alive right now..."
Kusa: "I wonder who that's thanks to?"
Kusa: "Well..."
Kusa: "I think I know who."
Kai: "It's more convenient for now that you have the belt."
Kusa: "I'd like you to thank me again."
Kusa: "Properly."
Kusa: "Put some feeling into it."
Kusa: "What's wrong?"
Kusa: "Do it quickly."
Taku: "I'll die before I bow my head to you."
Taku: "But I'll repay my debt."
Taku: "Someday, for sure."
Taku: "That should be plenty."[/hide]

I just re-watched the episodes to get that dialogue and I don't see anything that implies that he did it for that reason; just that it'd be easier if Lucky Clover didn't have the belt, is all. (And, even if he did... it's Kusaka; you really gonna believe him?)

Big-lipped Alligator moment, don't try to understand it.

Yeah. \:
It's even lamer when you know that Takuma (the guy you mentioned) is played by Agito's Hojo; such a waste of the actor.

Him giving it to faiz for any reason was bullcrap based on his character. It was also pulled out of thing air. Where did Kaixa get it. Why did he have it. Just more nonsense from faiz.

It's implied he got it from the remaining members of the cram school, who talk to him about a third belt before he leaves somewhere with them and doesn't answer any phone calls for a few episodes. He comes back in town when Takumi loses the belt (again) and doesn't explain anything to anyone (of course).

It still makes no sense why HE would give Faiz a powerup of any kind, though.

And I just finished that episode, haha.

What a lame powerup. All it did was give him the same Rider Kick Faiz has been using the entire show. I liked it when Kaixa had his own dashing slice whatever you call it finisher. It was his own thing. Faiz's holographic teleporting drill kick IS cool, though.

Speaking of cool, I like the way Accel Mode looks somehow. It's a simple change but it works. Clock Up is still the stronger power, without a doubt.

Inoue.

But seriously, I'm glad I gave up rewatching Faiz with decent subs. There are so many plot holes, misscommunications that could had been avoided without killing the show's 'drama' and lose ends. I still don't understand why Kusaka would give Takumi the Accel upgrade, EVEN if he preferred that the Faiz gear reminds around him. He could had simply went Accel Kaixa and rub it on Takumi's face. But nope.

And yeah, Accel Faiz looks great, I much prefer an upgrade like this where you can still 'see' the base form.

Yeah and yet... He gives Faiz a power up out of the kindness of his heart. I swear the Faiz writers were crack heads.
I've always assumed that he tried it out first but realized it was incompatible with the Kaixa gear.

Or it's just another case of the incredibly random ways that characters get new equipment in Faiz. If I remember correctly the Faiz Blaster just showed the hell up out of nowhere, too.
