And even if you wanted to go along with the "portray all Western figures except the ones we want you to worship as villains, even if they themselves are flawed" line of thinking, this is the same franchise that produced Starfish Hitler. It wouldn't be too out there.
Still, I think making his mid-season upgrade just another Eyecon of another famous dude, it'll be kinda anticlimactic. Whatever people they pick to personify upgrade Eyecons would be completely arbitrary.
Exactly. Toei is gonna try and milk the Eyecons for all they're worth. Fifteen wouldn't be enough to bring in much money, especially considering how little they cost.
Yeah we wish it would happen and if it does then the toy companies should just re configure the setting in the eycon belt when the ghost show will try to make a dedicated episodes to the late actors who portray the heroes that way it will win viewership and pleased the originals and to make it as a fitting farewell to the deceased heroes much like how gokaiger did with jetman's black condor. But that probably won't happen because new fans don't care about showa riders since they don't believe the heroes who made the show as it is today much like how doctor who fans respect the previous doctors from previous shows.
I'm happy the main character dies to get his power and technically isn't human anymore, which is a nice trope they're bringing back like how the older riders were cyborgs. Also I noticed the villains have belts similar to the ghost driver, even the grunts which is very Shocker Rider-esque. Villains using the same powers as the heroes has always been prevalent but I feel like with Ghost, it feels like they're calling back to old school riders.
Good point now if only they will revive the cyborg theme and to revive the villain organisation thing from the showa days into the anniversary series though i prefer nanobots.
Maybe they should have tried the normal ordinary hair thing for a while but don't blame that, blame the thing from the 80s like how liveman did with the '80's anime' hair style
See those belts that the monsters are wearing? Those are the actual Ganma according to one of the latest scans. They basically attach themselves to objects and transforms those objects into bodies that they control. It's really Sentai-ish.
It seems like the Kamen Rider franchise has really embraced multiple Riders again. Drive introduced both Drive and Protodrive in episode 1, Gaim introduced five Armored Riders in the first scene alone, and now it looks like we should expect Kamen Rider Spectre to show up in Ghost within the first 5 episodes.
Not that I'm advocating the promotion of historical inaccuracy, but hardly anyone will know who Tesla is... Unless you're talking about the Tesla Coil.
Also, out of curiosity, why are so many people taking this historical/legacy/legend thing so seriously?
I would not be surprised if the decisions are in part down to what some Bandai exec somewhere thinks is the coolest sounding foreign name out of a shortlist he's given.
If the CGI ghosts shown in the promo turn out to be actual characters (ala the Imagin) I would not be too shocked if they turned out to be nothing like the real life figures anyway.

Unless of course they are different ghost like beings named after the historical characters not acting like them but without voices and will act like W's assistant items.
But anyways, I wonder how many of the Damashis we'll see. I have a feeling it'll be like with almost every Rider show: Sounds put in the toy but are unused in the show. Like with the other Formula Shift Cars and the three Signal Bikes.
