Kabuto - Still the best.

Zecters (ゼクター, Zekutā?), also known as the Masked Rider System (マスクドライダーシステム, Masukudo Raidā Shisutemu?), are compilation of mobile systems that seem to affect space/time. They were created by the Natives, a species of Worm that arrived on Earth 35 years ago. These Natives in turn gave the Zecters to humans, so that they may protect them from alien Worms that would arrive later. Appearing instantaneously from the ZECT headquarters, then to the selected personnel so that they may transform into the respective Rider to fight any Worms in the vicinity.

Huh.... thanks. :)

Loved the Kabuto designs, and Kagami is one of my favorite Riders, but the plot fell apart. It's sadly the worse example of the plot falling apart in Heisei that I can think of. Hibiki had the staff change to blame, Kabuto just... lost plot threads. They just walked right out of the room and the show kept going.

I enjoy it, but I can't say I felt it was well-written, or the best of the Heisei Rider shows. I give that title to Agito.

Still waiting on Kabuto SICs.

I agree with you. However, the entire show has an arrogant protagonist which made me say "KAGAMI should've been the man"

Actually, I had no problem with Tendou. He wasn't supposed to change. That wasn't the point. Once again, look at Hibiki: Hibiki himself remains remarkably constant throughout the entire show, while Asumu is the one that changes. The same is true with Tendou. It's more about how the rest change around him. The problem is how those changes were handled. Kagami was, ostensibly, the main character.

Kabuto is awesome. Until you get to the dark knife, hyper zecter and red shoes storylines. Right about that point, you realize the writers are just pulling scenes from a hat.

Really, if Kabuto was going to be the best rider show ever, as Keith maintains, then at some point Kabuto should have lost everything and been forced to regain it. Sure, give us 11 episodes of Kabuto being superior to everyone else. Then introduce Dark Kabuto, who shows up on camera, and gets Kabuto busted for crimes he didn't commit. Show how the other riders help Kabuto regain his place. Then when the Hyper/Perfect Zecter storyline comes about, the other riders willingly give up their zecters for the weapon modes because they know that Kabuto is "The One" to save the day.

.

I never understood this complaint about Kabuto. What lost plot threads?

This isn't Faiz with its "Kusaka, fight to survive! Oops, Kusaka, it turns out fighting will kill you!" or "Delta belt gives super powers to its users... wait! Delta belt doesn't do anything, sorry!".

Sure, they didn't show every Rider receiving their Zecters, but we know that Zect made them and we know that Zect's president was plotting against Zect itself, so those actions make sense, even if the scenes weren't directly shown.

It's like people complaining about Riders being useless just because they weren't around for the final battle against the Natives, even though everyone helped in the final battle against the standard Worms, which were the main enemy during most of the series. The last few episodes were pure Kagami and Tendo focus, but that doesn't suddenly erase every previous action.

I like kabuto. It kept me interested for the whole series. One thing though, I still don't know who gave yaguruma his hopper zecter.

Kagami's father goes all "the doors of hell are open!" and Yaguruma speaks about coming back from hell and has his own Zecter. The connection seems pretty obvious.
