Oh god, Kiva. It's one of those shows where style oozes so much out of it yet it ends up failing hard because of how bad the writing was.
On an aesthetic level, I loved everything in the show, the suits, the costumes, how awesome those fangires look, the finishing moves (yes, I even liked the wanking sword.) and the music, Oh god the music! It's just a beautiful show to look at and listen to. Hell, just for the IXA suit alone it deserves praise.
Then you get to the other points and realize how much crap there is to shoval through before you get to anything good. inconsistant storyline, characters with the personality of a blade of grass, and those stupid quirky character traits that I can't stand that appear in every single kamen rider since Agito! ohh! look! Rooks eating Ice cream! Nago needs them buttons don't he!? Contests on body fat percentages anyone?:redface2:
Now it wasn't nothing but a steady stream of bad writing, no. I felt the entire arc where Wataru and Otoya both went out and kicked the crap out of japanese david bowie (I mean 86's king if your wondering.) and Watarus proclemation as king were the best parts of the entire show. Yet then they pull out of their butts that finale with neo-fangires and watarus son looking like a beach bum where then took the VCD the show was on and proceeded to destroy them in my garbage disposal.
Anyway, concluding my nonsensical mindless rant, Kiva was a whole ton of good ideas but nothing which roped those good ideas together.
