I believe that was the case exactly. The walls were made of some sort of fabric and it ended up costing in excess of $1000 IIRC.
Convention organizers should certainly have some rules set in place since that incident prohibiting anything that could possibly make a mess, but an outright ban seems unnecessary. However, items were being auctioned off to pay the expenses so it isn't like either one of those guys stepped up and said, "Hey, we messed it up so we'll pay for it."
EDIT: I see where The 2nd Evil posted the actual dollar amount for the damages. Wow. Way more than I thought.
I wonder if there could be a loop hole for them to exploit. Like, maybe they can't be invited as guests, but could just show up to it as like a person attending the convention. I mean, there's a lot of people at these things. Can the hotel really watch everyone?
It depends on if they've been told that they will not be invited again, if they are no longer welcome, or if they've been banned. The first one, they might be able to get away with it. The latter two, likely not (especially if it turns out that the hotel has refused them, and the convention has to follow the hotel's rules).
Also, one, it's the convention staff's responsibility to watch people, not the hotel's. And second, assuming PMC is anything like conventions I've been to, they have a good [works as security but can't be called that unless they're trained professionals] team that would recognize them and remove them if they're seen.

Better yet Keith should just donate the $7000 dollars of damages. I mean he is head admin of one of the leading toku forums. He should lead by example. I mean if I was head admin I would but I'm not so...

We all know it would be a example of poor taste to invite them back, they are PR icons. The fans don't expect to just come quitely, we expect them to crash the party.:castlerock:
