It's time to come out...

He's youtubed Kamen Rider and said "They had power cards and one of them met with another to go fight a dragon."

I think it must have been a Kamen Rider Blade clip or something.

I'm not seeing him again till Tuesday, so I've got to come up with a game plan then. Help me guys, you're my only hope

*shrugs* I don't know what to say. He's either accepting, or not. You can't push him into it. I would suggest, if you'd like him to get into it, that you show him Kabuto.

ETA: LOL Fayt, naw, they decided to elope.

Give Garo a shot. If that doesn't do it for him, then he's hopeless. If he can't accept your interest in it, then I say dump him.

Usually when the Power Rangers remarks come up, I try to be cool about it and say "yeah, it's similar, but it's not the same show. Most are aimed at an older audience."

If they're real assholes about it and insist on insulting me for it, I say this:
"By your definition of 'Power Rangers', wouldn't Godzilla fall under this category? How about Alien vs. Predator? It's all the same damn thing..."

Honestly, the logic some people have astounds me. :redface2:

If they still persist, I calmly tell them that I have my interests and I respect theirs. If they can't respect mine, then they need to keep their distance from me, because we aren't going to get along very well.

Sounds more like Ryuki. :p

It's never been a problem for me. I simply said to the soon-to-be wife: "I like Sunday morning Japanese action shows, and stuff like Power Rangers"

Really, it's not any different to my love for animation, comic books and video games. Not to mention genre TV and movies. Although, I'm not overly obsessive (i'm not a die-hard fan of any of it), so maybe that's why my other half is understanding?

She is equally as mad about her Indian soaps, so it levels out anyway. And I keep my personal and professional life separate: for example, some of these World of Warcraft fanatics have trouble doing that.
