It's time to come out...

Usually when the Power Rangers remarks come up, I try to be cool about it and say "yeah, it's similar, but it's not the same show. Most are aimed at an older audience."

True, Japanese childrens' shows tend to be a lot more mature than American stuff but have you seen the meet-and-greets with the heroes they hold? Those kids are tiny!

Garo, Nexus, Sh15uya, and a few others are definitely aimed at an older audience but most of this stuff is aimed at young kids (and more often than not made with whole families in mind).

Anyway, I don't see what the big deal is with letting your man know you're a dork. Because, I mean, you are. We all are! Just accept it and move on!

Okay, been a while, but we've both been really busy.

So I showed him Cutie Honey: The Live,

then he didn't wanna cuddle in bed.

Does this mean I'm dumped?

On the bright side, I got him addicted to Battlestar Galactica.

Awwwww....that's sad really, that he won't accept something you're clearly passionate about.

But yay for getting him hooked onto other geeky stuff!

Um... what about KR: The First or The Next? Sure they're not really that representative of the genre as a whole, but maybe it's worth a shot?

I hate to hear that he wasn't feeling it, after The Live though. ;_;

Yeah, he's coming round later so he can watch more Battlestar. We blitzed through 10 episodes the other day.

In order to get your boyfriend into tokusatsu, you showed him what could be considered softcore straight porn? :sly:

He still likes ladies, I thought it might be funny.

I was thinking First/Next, he seemed interested in it when I showed him bits of the DVD. Saying that, he really wants to see Casshern and Karas when I showed him bits.

I showed my friend THE NEXT.
He enjoyed it, but mostly laughed at the stunts, saying these things "thats impossible noone can do that!!"

"YOU WISH YOU COULD DO THAT!"

"WTF?"

and so on.

I'm probably dooming myself to be alone forever (then again...maybe not *crosses fingers*), but I've found that unless I'm with someone who doesn't look over at me and say "you still watch Power Rangers?" it never works out for any length of time.
