Is the Super Sentai universe in one continuity?

Then you have the JAKQ vs GoRanger problem, because in it Joker mentions that not only do JAKQ and GoRanger share the same universe but so do the Kamen Riders and Kikaider, which means you could say that not only does the super sentai universe and kamen rider universe coexist but also all of Ishinomori's characters as well, which though very cool but also a massive clusterfuck of a universe but then i doubt anyone but me would count this one time thing as being in continuity

And VS movies, that just don't make sense are something like AR Worlds in Decade.

Kamen Rider and Super Sentai don't exists in same universe. That's for sure.

It doesn't make any sense to see them in the same universe. The versus movies are a bit of fun and Gokaiger was a nice tribute, but trying to see every series taking place in the same universe (and all in roughly the same location in Japan? :sly:) just makes no sense. I won't stop anyone who wants to make elaborate, Zelda style timeline theories, but at that point you're putting in more thought than the creators ever have.

Why? People like myself would love it.

This is what I and others have been saying. If Super Sentai is one universe, then it's an implied, loose, and unofficial united universe. By the plot of each series, it is technically impossible for them to all exist in the same universe. But they aren't saying it like it's a cold, hard fact. If it were, each series would be directly connected to each other in the same way Mighty Morphin through In Space was connected, and there would be a lot to answer for.

So maybe Super Sentai shares one universe, maybe not. It's however you want to interpret it. There is no cold, hard facts. No right or wrong answer.

Because this kind of stuff may be fun as speculation for fan discussion but not everyone enjoys playing connect the dots to rationalize it all as a shared universe nor do they want the shows themselves to go out of their way to do that.

In Dekaranger, there are aliens all over the place and the Earth is a well established part of the interstellar community. In Magiranger the very next year none of this is around. Zyuranger, Abaranger, Boukenger, and Go-onger all have different contradictory explanations as to what happened to the dinosaurs. These are just two examples off the top of my head of the myriad contradictions that arise from trying to place all the different Super Sentai series into the same universe. Gokaiger distracts us from this through spectacle and fanservice, but the implied universe just can't stand up to scrutiny.

Beyond that, Super Sentai is not Power Rangers, it is not one long continuous storyline; it is a franchise encompassing multiple self-contained stories which use the same basic formula. This is good because it allows Super Sentai to be flexible and do new and different things every year without worrying about what came before, and it allows a new audience to enter the franchise regularly without having to catch up on potentially decades of continuity.
