IRON SKY = Sarah Palin vs Space Nazis...

I'm against it, but not for any of those reasons. I just think it looks bad. I'm fully behind any homage or creative project inspired by classic, campy sci-fi conventions, and the premise of Nazis from the moon is pretty magnificent on its own, but frankly the fact that Sarah Palin is its satirical protagonist detracts from my amusement a little. Mostly I'm just getting pretty tired of these intentionally campy themed cult-style movies featuring notable personalities and historical figures as leading characters. Jesus, Sarah Palin, Abraham Lincoln... it's the kind of thing that's really only funny for its novelty, and that novelty has long since worn off. The only real reason to anticipate this movie is to observe Palin's reaction.

It's not even Sarah Palin, but a complete knock off of her. Which may be a good thing. But I do see the critics actually bashing on this movie to the extreme. My dad probably won't see this movie. As he usually reads the reviews on it from the local newspaper websites, like the Akron Beacon Journal. Which the critics of that newspaper have no taste in movies what so ever. They seem to hate every movie they review. Seriously they don't like the movies they review. Despite what the big name critics like Roger Ebert has to say.

I'm going to end up watching this, because sometimes bad movies can be so much fun. Standard toku movie procedure - brain off, movie on!

I saw this Asylum film "Nazis at the Center of the Earth" at Wal-Mart and was reminded of this yesterday. Finally watched "Iron Sky" today and it was ridiculously awesome! :buttrock:

So is this movie ever coming out? Although, I don't think I am interested in it that much anymore.

I can't take any Asylum films seriously. Especially after casting Kel Mitchell in a lead role in a Battle: Los Angeles mockbuster. Then again, maybe these Asylum knock offs were never meant to be taken seriously.

I still intend to give Iron Sky a whirl, eventually.
