Internet Censorship Bill passes

You must be an oblivious fool to believe that Congress hasn't done more damage to the nation than both presidents combined.

"In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress." -- John Adams

I didn't think the US Government had any control over domain names.

And that's why people should fight more for Net neutrality...off course when the majority of people don't use the Web anymore but just log on to Facecrap and Shitter or FourTard then they stop caring and just bow to the big corporation.

On the whole protection against piracy is nice, but Hollywood needs to evolve its buisness models to offer what people want when they want it otherwise they will always turn to torrent and illegal downloads.

This bill means that TOEI could rain virtual apocalypse on TV-Nihon at any time. I know they don't want the Japanese from downloading the raws or fansub instead of buying the DVDs but... damnit I'm still buying their darn toys! Throw us a bone TOEI we'll keep your buddy Bandai happy ><

TOEI is not an American company, so they can't say boo in regards to this bill.
Something like this would need to pass in Japan from them to take action, even then it would only be blocking sites to Japanese ISP's or killing Japan based sites.

I know some dems in here don't want to hear this, but are best bet could be Republicans in Jan. Remeber the bill was passed under Dems control. Thier be a new House in Jan. The republicans aren't going to want to pass a law that Pelosi approved..

Or, as a bumper stick my Uncle once had put it:

"If "Progress" means to go forward, what does "Congress" mean"

It passed the 19-member Judiciary committee. Pelosi hasn't touched it.

TOEI has an American branch and international copyrights, the offenders are American. That's ground enough to lodge a complaint to nuke TV-Nihon.

The comments has been floored by this censorship bill passes..

One comment said: This is fundamentally Unconstitutional. If Obama signs this bill he's done, finished, pack your bags, and move back to Chicago. The fat ladys not only singing she is farting a syncopated beat. That poor housewife in MI who got hit for 56k in final fines for downloading 14 songs is faced with decapitated justice that lost the blindfold years ago.

I couldn't agree more. He's finished if he signs the bill into law.
