I'm not TOO familiar with Sentai but...

Like, I know bits and pieces to get by, really the only Sentai I've watched are Boukenger and Shinkenger. I started watching Timeranger as well. Most of the other ones I've watched the first few eps before fading back to Kamen Rider.

Anyway, here's a question, is there a Sentai where the team has no clue on how to use their powers when they first start? It just seems like Sentai fall under two categories:

1.) Morph and they immediately know, despite just receiving their devices. Most of the time, they get no explanation on what does what.

or

2.) They've had prior training to familiarize with it, which I like because it avoids 1.

Based on what I remembered, Bioman. In the first ep, they don't have any idea on transforming. Same case with Jetman that they don't have the idea on how to use their powers first (well, the 4 civilians to be exact) also, it took them at least four eps just for their mecha to debut!

Carranger too. They had to read an actual manual on how to use the Formula Nova.... in the middle of the battle.

its been a while since I watched magiranger but I think for the most part they still had to learn as they went a long.

In Gekiranger, Jan has a hard time trying to morph in the beginning , but then he see's a helpless kid in trouble and morphs....while screaming, but even after that he still learns other things about his power. The others already had prior training so I don't know if that answered your question, I hope it did! :sweat:

Well there was the occasion when Timefire first fought, he saw a screen in his visor that showed him what his gun could do, maybe its like that for the others too?

I've only enjoyed four Sentai series, Kakuranger, Zyuranger, Dairanger, and Gingaman.

In Kakuranger, the rangers besides Tsurihime (White) was the only one who knew how to transform. She had to go around recruiting everybody else.

If I remember correctly, in Jetman, only Ryu/Red Falcon knows how to fight and morph. The other 4 were not soldiers so they had to be trained first.

Second, if my memory serves me right, Turborangers. They had to be instructed/trained by the Doctor guy (Forgot his name, sorry. ) before they were able to transform and fight since all of them were just students before they were chosen to be rangers.
