What would happen? Well, people would be ASTOUNDED at a show where there was only ONE Kamen Rider! They would drool and worship Odagiri, whine about the lack of inappropriately dressed women, and want to bed Ichijo... oh. That may have just been me.

that's a valid point. your theory would be interesting when compared to the current trend right now. there was a mixed reaction to tendou when he appeared to be badass and cool, but in a sense, odagiri has a realistic portrayal.

Forgive Glam for his poor memory for names...but who was Odagiri? Isn't Kuuga's rider called Godai Yuusuke? Glamador recalls Ichijo was the cop.

And quite truly, Hibiki ranks very highly on my personal list. Probably...4th, maybe 5th. Might get bumped down to 6th once Glam gets to W, but for now it's top 5 for sure.

Oh same here. There's some early installment weirdness, and the retool really did drag it down, but those last few episodes before the retool kicked in (mid-twenties) are about as close to toku perfection as I've ever seen.

It was a fine system, though Ryuki's take was a bit odd (As they just drew and it was seemingly useful) where as Blade and Decade/DiEnd both pick from their "collection".

Personally I prefer the systems with more structure to them. I prefer OOO's medals to Fourze's switches, because with OOO you had the medals divided into colours, each colour has an animal theme and Greeed totem, and then they were further divided into head, arms and leg medals. Fourze did end up having 10 switches per limb, but they were for the most part just random objects. With Ryuki there was something of an unspoken system. Each Rider had a weapon card, a special ability card, a final attack card, and so on. I preferred it to Blade, where the only rule was that you could only have 13 cards in your suit (I've seen toy reviews that show that the weapons only have something like 2000 points and each card you swipe removes a few hundred points, but the show never even mentions what should be a pretty major limitation).

Daguva would sit with his thumbs up his ass and do jackshit until the final episode.

It's been a good 18 months since I saw Kuuga, but as I recall that's exactly what happened!

one thing i noticed while reading this thread and others is the complaint that nothing happens in some rider shows after a certain point and sometimes they dont wrap up plot elements.

maybe the super sentai and rider shows need to do a smaller number of eps per series. instead of 48-51 eps maybe it should be 26-32 or even 40 at the most.

It wouldn't work for merchandising reasons. Plus if you were in charge of Sentai or Kamen Rider, would you be willing to give up your slot for 6 months? If the other show does better, you suddenly run the risk of being cancelled, instead of being permenantly sat in a secure slot.

If Kuuga & Agito aired today, it would be at the mercy of the direction the company wants for it. Since the early 2000's was a different time, where as today it's not considered acceptable.
